Paying with gift cards and using a TA

Can I pay with Carnival gift cards through my TA that makes the payment on my behalf?   I am racking up points in AARP rewards with the hopes I can get the 10% discount.  

 

I emailed my TA but I tend to get a faster response from these forums

Yes.  Your TA should be entering the information directly into Carnival's system, so there should be no issues.

One more resounding yes.  My TA takes them happily.

Yes, but I would double check with your TA. When I booked, I asked ahead of time to be sure. They said Yes but if I cancel booking I would be refunded in the gift card balance. Not sure how they would do that but did not see as an issue so, I went ahead.

I paid the majority of my cruise with gift cards. The rest was with AMEX to get the deal they had going on.
