Cancun to Cozumel:

By air: 30 minutes via puddle jumper

By land: 45 minutes by taxi or shuttle to Playa Del Carmen, then 45 minutes by ferry to Cozumel.

If you really want to see Cancun,

 

rent some tubes and paddle over...

 

You can wave to the ship as it leaves

 

They have great discos in Cancun,

 

and you can fly back free... if you

 

tell Carnival you want to use the "Cruise

 

Guarantee". After your hangovers from

 

extra cheap Tequila... $2 a bottle...

Just how bad it the drive from Playa del Carmen to Cancun? I'm thinking of doing that when I'm there in early November. But - maybe not?

Well, I probably should have withheld my comment.It was 97 when I made that drive last.I cant believe its been that long!!It was on a semi airconditoned bus,that broke down twice.

They were working on widening that highway when I was there,but I bet that one man I saw with a sledge hammer,is still trying to break down rock.

Also,was not real happy about the armed check points....So...I will defer to someone with more recent experience.

Oh,yeah,when we were there,the ferry to coz was

robbed by pirates...no,really,I am serious.

Cozumel is an island located south of Cancun. It is a 45 minute ferry ride from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen. It is probably another hour + taxi or bus ride to Cancun from Playa del Carmen.
