Hire convertible near port for an hour?

We will be in Havana for 2 days in July on the Empress of the Sras. We are taking an 8 hour tour plus a night at Paresian the first day. On the second day we thought it would be fun to just have an old convertible drive us around for an hour or 2. Does anyone know if this would be possible near the port?

Yes, they have cars around everywhere. The best place to pick them up is on the main street - turn left out of the terminal & walk maybe a block or so & there's a whole bank of cars waiting, just pick the one you want. I think it's 10 - 20 CUCs per hour.

This is what you will see when you get off the ship.  The building in the background is the terminal

We were just there on the Empress. Yes, the cars are taxis and they will negotiate a drive. We asked our tour guide what a reasonable price would be to take us from the terminal to the Hotel Nacional for a sunset cocktail. It was easy and he was okay with the short trip, and would have been just as happy if we wanted to spend more time (and money).

Do you recall how much you paid to go to the Nacional? That's going to be one of our must see places next week.

Sorry, just returned form another vacation. We paid $10 CUCs one way and $15 CICs on the way back. But you are probably back already, I hope you had fun!

I was able to get your response while on the cruise - thank you We actually ended up taking the local bus for less than 1CUC for the two of us! It was a great experience. Ended up finding a car back for 10CUC by walking to the main street.
