GMCOLT Posted March 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2019 We just got back from a great cruise. Weather was nice the whole time. Seas fairly calm down and back. However, windy due to the ship going nearly full speed. 2nd day going, was warm outside, but windy. Hit San Juan, St Lucia, St Martin, Antigua and St Thomas. Did excursions as follows. SAN JUAN, Walked around, interesting to see. Probably should have done one of the tours according fellow cruisers. ST MARTIN, snorkel Catamaran, good time, organized, crew monitored safety of us closely. Fun beach time, rum punch on way back. ST LUCIA,Bus tour and Volcano, was interesting tour of a very rugged Island. Stopped at a fishing village, sulfur springs and garden. Got a idea of the culture, non tourist parts. Was a long day on a bus on curvy roads. However, no regrets. ANTIGUA, Sting Ray trip. Bus trip in traffic kinda of a pain. HOWEVER, sting Ray portion was well organized and alot of fun. Staff was really good at making sure people got to hold and feed the Sting Ray's. They gave a good pre tour briefing. Our friends enjoyed their first experience. ST THOMAS, cab into town, 4 dollars a person. Did shopping. Wish it was a longer stop. Sail home, fun, smooth. SHIP, in good shape, crew always cleaning. Enjoyed food . We love Cagneys. Italian was tasty. Tappanyaki was good. Friend had an issue with suace being spilled on her. The couple's charges were removed The guest services manager helped us with a couple account issues. Entertainment was good, many fun folks. Sailing home we were notified of a family death. The concierge was fantastic helping us. We were allowed to make phone calls home at no charge. She kept in touch the last sea days and arranged for us to disembark with the Haven so we got off very soon after our 10 am arrival. Almost forgot. The meet and greet was fun, well attended. Richard did a great job organizing it. Fun raffle. I would do this cruise again. Feel free to ask questions.
amberjohn Posted March 22, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2019 We are thinking of taking gem cruise in November. We have taken the GEM before and are hoping for new entertainment. Could you talk about the onboard shows a little? thanks
GMCOLT Posted March 22, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted March 22, 2019 Did not see all the shows. Comedian was good. Friends enjoyed the shows. We enjoyed the music variety along with the band who had several crew come up and sing at a deck party.
