sdcogshell Posted March 28, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2019 If you pay your cruise off, You see the same cruise for lower price. Will the cruise line give you on board credit if you let the agent know?

andykayewth Posted July 31, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 31, 2019 In my experience, generally once final payment is made, it is much harder to improve your rate.

Then you probably still have leverage because you can still cancel for a refund. Is it after final payment date, the day you actually are required to pay? Then there's not a lot of leverage. Rare sparks1093 Posted August 2, 2019 #6 Share Posted August 2, 2019 A lot depends on the cruise line. Once the final payment date is passed and the cruise is getting closer many of them will reduce the rates in order to fill the ship and these new rates are typically for new bookings only, which means in order for you to take advantage of it you would have to cancel your cruise and then re-book it with the new rate. That means that you would lose any perks from the original booking and be subject to any cancellation fees. Carnival has an Early Saver fare that allows you to apply for the difference in price up until 48 hours of sailing but the terms and conditions are difficult to understand, but they are the only ones that offer this that I'm aware of. Rare alanstarr Posted August 7, 2019 #7 Share Posted August 7, 2019 Never hurts to ask. There was a $388 price drop on my cabin after final payment was due. Princess wouldn't issue a refund (didn't expect one), but did give me $250 in non-refundable OBC.
realtorgranny Posted August 8, 2019 #8 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Our total NCL cruise rate was $985 less this week . We are months after final payment but contacted NCL to see what they would offer. We got $250 OBC and I was happy with that. #doesnthurttoask.
