Back to back cruise

Hello. This will be my first back to back this weekend, sailing the Breakaway from New Orleans. What happens when we return from the first cruise?

I will have a different category/cabin. I know that I will have to pack up and vacate the cabin.

Do I have to disembark and go through customs as usual with my luggage?

Go through security again? Get in line to check in?

Thanks in advance

You do not disembark and take luggage with you!!!  Since you are changing cabins, you will need to pack your luggage and then the cabin steward will move it for you. You will meet at a designated place (usually around 10am) and be escorted off the ship and through customs then led back on the ship.  I always remind my cabin steward and half way through the cruise go and introduce myself to our cabin steward for the following week.  Have fun!

To add to what the others replied. With your letter that you receive on the ship, you will also get special luggage tags that show the new room that you are going to so that the room steward knows where to take the luggage. I also agree with the other poster, go and introduce yourself to the new room steward a few days before you change rooms. In New Orleans, If you are lucky, you might be able to go and put your hand luggage in the new room as well as your safe items before you head out for the day.  The room will not be clean but if the other occupants have left early the room steward might let you do this. Also you should get your new key before you leave the ship that day. Enjoy

And if you would like to leave the ship and enjoy New Orleans for the day, then it will just be like any other port stop on your itineray, and you will get a sticker so that you don't need to stand in line to get back on the ship later in the day. Since you are changing your cabin and therefore probably will be at a differerent muster station for the second leg of your cruise, you will probably have to do the safety drill again on the New Orleans day.
