We met up and got off the ship together around 10. We walked by all these fellows offering to bicycle you to the end of the pier. I laughed thinking no thanks I’m good. (remember this for later). We walked up by the pool and got approached by a nice guy offering to help us figure out what we wanted to do.

We made a deal to pay $125 for all 6 of us to have chairs, umbrellas, unlimited zip lining and water sliding for 4, and free wi-fi for 4. We also had waitress service where we sat. I don’t know if this was a good deal or not. I had to use the umbrella to shade myself and to keep out of the rain. It was sunny and rainy on and off all day.

We had buckets of Presidente beers (6 for $20). At first, I did not care for it and ordered a Corona but after 1 Corona, I relented and drank the hard stuff. Wow… we ordered food. We felt like we better eat. That beer is no joke!!!

We saw the Skybar on our way to zip line and decided we would go here for 1 beer before leaving. The views were breathtaking.

Here's the Sky Bar

And the view of the ship.

Couldn't you just stay here all day? Well I thought about it but, the next thing I know, a storm blew in. It was windy, raining and scary for about 5 minutes. We ducked under the bar and the stools for cover. Luckily, it was over as fast as it started, and we made our way back toward the ship.

That’s when DH suggested we take a ride. I didn’t feel like I needed it but if you told me you saw me zig zagging from the Presidente’s, I would not argue. Maybe, I really did need that ride. I shouldn’t have laughed earlier. Here's the man that saved us!!!!!

Once back on board the ship, I went straight to Guys for a burger. It was a little after 3. I also got a few bottles of water in me and took at least a 2-hour break from my next beer. That beer on that island is not to be played with, it’s potent.

Then we watched sail away. Goodbye Amber Cove, I love you!

For dinner that night I had the salmon cake. DH had the fried chicken.

My friend took this picture of the ox tongue. I refused to try that.

We went to see the country show. I had one last hooray and we went for midnight pizza a little early. I think it was before 11.

Day 5 – St. Thomas

Unfortunately, I woke up at 2am with a terrible sore throat. I had nothing packed for that ailment, so I was forced to wait until the shops opened up at 9am to go get something.

Around 8 we went for breakfast. DH stood in line for an omelet, but I saw no line over at the Blue Iguana. I got the huevos rancheros and two Arepas. Nicole from CC made special notes in her review about Arepas, so I had to try them. Not bad, thanks Nicole!

We were to be in St. Thomas 11:30am -7pm. I’ve never had a late port yet, so this was nice to be able to relax and stand out on deck 10 watching us pull up to the pier.

You mentioned getting the internet plan.  Do you know if the Breeze has been updated with the better internet yet?

Hey Lee Cruiser,

I’m glad you asked. I bought the plan of $84 for the week. At first, I could email, surf the web and send iMessages. That stopped a few days in. Even after guest services refreshed it for me. I still could not surf the web or email from my phone.  I could log into their computers and email. I could not send a picture to my friends that just had the social plan. My friend in school bought the supreme plan because she had to do online work and it worked good for her.

Thanks so much!  I'm guessing it hasn't been upgraded yet.  We are on the Breeze the end of the month and were wondering about it.

Going on Breeze (Carnival first-timer) to Bermuda in September. We were originally going to do the Eastern for the ports (2 new ones for us), but Bermuda prices came down so we booked that instead. Plan to do a lot of research and review reading in the next couple of months. Loving your review so far!

Thanks for the help Jamman54!!! My group really, really loves the Pride and I remember that you all do too. I'll give their thoughts and mine on the Breeze at the end.

Thanks Jamman54, I didn't know this bit of advice either.

Thanks Carolina Girl,

I'll be anxious to hear how your Bermuda cruise goes. I have wondered about that. I think the Pride goes there from Baltimore which would be pretty convenient for me. Have a great time!!!

Sorry for the delay. Last night I tried to finish up St. Thomas, but I got an error screen.  After an hour and gave up.

Here are two more scenery pics before I left the ship.

Today's agenda was a Carnival excursion called Kon-Tiki Party Boat & Beach Fun.  I think our tickets said to meet at 1pm. As soon as we walked off the boat there were signs and we were walking to our party boat at 1:15.

The excursion advertised free rum punch and a steel drum band. The band did not play very much. It was a quiet and subdued boat ride to the beach but they did announce quite a bit of information about the area. They took us to Water Island. I’ll be totally honest… I did not like this beach. It wasn’t pretty water or nice and sandy. In fact most of us didn’t even bother getting wet. They had two bars on this little beach, and I used the facilities at one. I’m glad I did not have to change out of a wet bathing suit. It was about the size of a bathroom on an airplane. It was in a little tiny travel trailer. We were given an hour and a half of beach time. I just sat on a cement ledge and people watched. A lot of other cruisers joined me on that ledge but, I was the only one bit on the butt cheek by a fire ant. That bite throbbed for days. Ugh!

1165046486_5-DSCF5870.thumb.JPG.3bfae4ebd7ff75c45689b9e398b00c65.JPG

But you can tell by this picture that lots of people were enjoying themselves.

Once back on board, the Kon Tiki crew was much more enthusiastic. They did a limbo contest and played music, but it wasn’t the steel drums, just a sound system. Congrats to Tabby who won the contest! They had beer to purchase but it was hot. Not just warm, I mean this was hot. I had to force down a rum punch. The cost was 60 bucks per person. I’m glad we did it, but I wouldn’t do it again.

They got us back to the pier in time to walk to a few shops and still make it to dinner by 6pm.

We all headed down to the Red Frog after dinner to see Travis but he wasn’t playing this night. It was Dancing with Soph and Simon. We didn’t care for the loud horn he was playing so we ducked over to the Ocean Plaza and lucky us, we found Travis there. Midnight pizza came early again, this time 10pm. Must have been the free rum punch that got to me. Ha-ha! DH is giving me a silly thumbs up here. I’d say the rum punch got to him but he didn’t have any.
