Wife has dietary restrictions - are Costa cruises accommodating?

Due to intestinal issues, my wife cannot have dairy (including cheese) or red meat (chicken is ok).  I've only been on American cruise lines in the past where there is an expansive menu selection and always a vegetarian option.  How do Costa cruises do with accommodating dietary restrictions?

You will need to speak to the maitre'd about this too.

Usually she would choose from the menu the day before.

There are several 'every day " choices as well as choices for that day.  Always a vegetarian option but that could contain cheese. Always a fish option too.

It would probably be best for her to have lunch also in MDR as they can accommodate her restrictions better there.

Hi,

Providing that you inform Maître 'd prior to going to MDR for first meal you will have no problems, you will find the times he/she is in one of the dining rooms around 4pm on day of sailing in the 'paper' in your cabin when you arrive.

Failing that do tell them on entering dining room, they will then offer her several choices & as MaryAnn said will come to get your next day selection during service.

There is always a veggie option, Pasta and fish, and she can have many types of salad each night if requested.

My wife was brought grated carrot & beetroot every night to go with her choice of fish, veggie or pasta.

The groups I travel with usually have finicky eaters, Costa is always very accomodating, but you will probably have to order a day in advance through the maitre d'. I'm told they do especially well on gluten-free. Special meals are prepared in a separate area of the kitchen and delivered with a purple cover.
