Here are links to the latest 2019 Cunard dress code and themed evening schedules for those that may be interested. I believe these were just posted within the past 24 hours, so I'm not sure why they start with 16 February 2019, but that's another matter.

The schedule shows June 15 (the night before arrival in Hamburg) as a Gala night. Also June 22 (the night before Southampton from Hamburg) but we're not disembarking in Southampton.

Do they really have Gala nights on those 2-night itineraries? Seems odd to have a Gala night just before disembarkation. I guess most people are staying on...

On QV 28th April - 2 days to Hamburg. VP site shows smart attire evenings, link above shows 1 gala night

which is correct?

Oddly enough, it's possible both are correct in one sense. Here is a partial quote of a post by Host Hattie from an earlier thread about "2 night mini cruise dress code". This may be relevant to Underwatr's question above as well.

Usually both nights will be shown as Smart Attire in the Voyage Personaliser but there may be one Gala optional once you're onboard. ...

Glad I have a Gatsby outfit, but what does one wear for a Royal Cunard Ball?

Here's the description I have of the Royal Cunard Ball. It's basically a "Red and Gold" theme.

Theme: Royal Cunard Ball

Available on: All Ships

Theme Description: Cunard's signature gala event, the Royal Cunard Ball, celebrating the glamour and elegance of Cunard through the ages.

Attire Suggestions:

Formal Wear
Red or Gold Dress code
Gentlemen - Tuxedo
Ladies - Evening gown
Appropriate red and/or gold gowns and accessories

No problem wearing black (or even blue) to the Royal Cunard Ball. If you add a red or gold accessory, you will be in full compliance with the theme as far as I am concerned. But even if you don't, no need to be concerned at all. Dressing according to the theme is entirely optional and many people just dress according to the standard "Gala Evenings" dress code.

Is it safe to assume that the (not included) schedule on the Dec. 22 Caribbean sailing will be comparable to the November one?

The schedules I have for the past few years are consistent regarding which evenings were Smart Attire/Informal and which were Gala Evening/Formal on QM2's December 22 Caribbean cruise. There have been some minor variations in the themed evenings. Here is what is listed in the dress code schedule documents I have for the past three years.

22-Dec   Smart Attire

23-Dec   Gala Evening   Black & White Ball (2016, 2017, 2018)

24-Dec   Smart Attire

25-Dec   Gala Evening   Christmas Ball (2016, 2017, 2018)

26-Dec   Smart Attire

27-Dec   Smart Attire   Buccaneer Ball (2018)

28-Dec   Smart Attire

29-Dec   Smart Attire

30-Dec   Smart Attire

31-Dec   Gala Evening   New Year's Eve Ball (2016, 2017, 2018)

01-Jan   Gala Evening   Masquerade Ball (2017, 2018) / Roaring Twenties (2019)

02-Jan   Smart Attire

Now we’re on board I can say that the linked information is correct and you’d be best to ignore what VP says

I’d even rang Cunard to ask who told me to follow VP info

Information desk staff have helpfully advised us that we could dine in the lido second night. Since we’ve upgraded seems like a waste of our upgrade to not have the dining option for 1 of the 2 nights on board 😡😡😡

off to try to find out where to hire Tux from

How do I find out the evening schedule for our Transatlantic Cruise on QM2 starting on the 3rd January 2020?

I'm afraid the schedule hasn't been published that far out yet. Cunard may publish a schedule sometime later this year that goes into 2020. Otherwise look for the schedule to be listed in your voyage personaliser about 3-4 months prior to your departure date.

Here's a new "V2" version of the 2019 QM2 dress code and theme schedule.

QM2: https://carnivaluk.metafaq.com/resources/carnivaluk/life-on-board/QM_2019_dress_codeV2.pdf

There are only two changes I can see.

1) The theme for the final Gala Evening on Voyage M924 (August 11-18, 2019) westbound crossing has been changed from "Masquerade Ball" to "Roaring Twenties".

2) The theme for the first Gala Evening on voyage M925 (August 18-25, 2019) eastbound crossing has been changed from "Royal Cunard Ball" to "Masquerade Ball".

By now, those of you on those particular crossings should have the themed evenings listed in your voyage personaliser. If you are interested in participating in the themed evenings, you may wish to see how the VP compares with what's now showing in this document for QM2.

As always, "This information is subject to change and final details will be confirmed on board."

Strange that the second week of our roundtrip TA ...the December 15-22 week...is still not on the schedule.

I noticed the same thing, as I am booked on that WB crossing. Oddly, there seems to be no Roll Call for that M941 voyage, either. It seems that 3 Gala/4 Smart is the standard for the crossings, so I'll plan on that until any different info presents itself.
