Here is the video tour with Barbara Muckermann included in the Silversea emailing

Marina and Base Camp

Restaurant and Explorer Lounge

Spa, Gym, and Suites

The Grill and Observation Lounge

Agree that these are well-produced and very interesting videos.  Also, enjoyed seeing the video where the Silversea CEO and former owner was walking around the ship, doing the official acceptance of this new ship, etc. Still, the big mystery/question relates to when and how will services for all of cruise ship operators resume in the Galapagos Islands??

And for us, much as we would like to see the Galapagos for the first time, we are being somewhat "conservative" as to when this situation will be completely "safe" and conditions proper to avoid any health risks with the airline flights, being with in larger groups, dining styles and densities, etc.

Below are a couple of recent news stories and links related to that question when things return to "normal" in the Galapagos Islands..  From MSN and Fox News in the past day, they had this headline: “Traveler stranded in Galapagos during pandemic shares 'unique' lockdown experience” with these highlights about a traveler who has been "locked down" in this unique location.  This includes this info item as to when the restrictions will be lifted: local state of emergency is slated to lift on June 15.

Below is another link from two days ago with this web headline: "Here is How Latin America is Reopening; Country by Country Report".  Their reporting has these details for Ecuador: "The country opened its airports in Quito and Guayaquil, resuming both domestic and international flights. However, very few airlines have resumed operations. Restaurants can reopen in most cities with a maximum capacity of 30%."

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Completed last summer Calgary, Jasper/Banff National Parks, Western Canada Rocky Mountaineer rail adventure, Vancouver, sailing up to Alaska, post-cruise excursion to Denali, etc.  Many visuals and details from our first in these scenic areas!  Live/blog at:

Ecuador declared the Galapagos "COVID-Free" and is opening it up on July 1.  The Quito airport is open, but not sure about international flights from the US.

There is still is some work to do for Silversea as well as the furniture and some fixtures have not been put in yet. The ship looks really nice and Silversea shouldn't have a problem filling it up even at the much higher prices.

We have a 51 week wait until our cruise on the Origin, but that's okay.  At this point, I'm just hoping life gets back closer to normal.

Thank you all for the info on the Silver Origin, what a spectacular Expedition ship for the Galapagos.

Now if only Silversea would do a lottery for past Silver Galapagos passengers to do the repositioning to the Galapagos??

I am glad the Galapagos is covid 19 free and ready to open up July 01 2020.
