Thank you both for your quick responses.   My GF just about had a heart attack when I told her she may not be able to take her flat iron.   We leave here in 3 hours and you truly made her day

There was such a scare some years back when HAL updated their prohibited items list and both shore-side/contract security as well as some ship security misinterpreted the entire "can't have any irons onboard" section. The resulting revolt from female passengers closely resembled the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789
