$6 blackjack tables on bliss

Was on the Bliss in February and the only $5 were at night and in the smoking section.  They also had a $5 3 card poker table.  We toughed it out as most smokers were pretty conscientious as could see we don't smoke so it was not too bad.

Yes 5$ and 1$ bonus or 6$ bet. Awesome.

My dad loves to play low denoms

On ships we've been on if you bet $6 on the regular Blackjack spot, you don't have to play the side bet.

The biggest problem with that is that a blackjack pays 6:5 rather than the usual 3:2. That is a huge disadvantage to the player. Secondly, if you got a $6 blackjack, they are not going to break a dollar so you are likely to be paid just $6 making that blackjack an even worse proposition.

I love to play blackjack and will never play 6:5 blackjack tables.

We just got off the Bliss Panama Canal cruise.  The lowest limit for blackjack was $10.  The majority of the time the tables were NOT busy over the 15 days, but the limit was never lowered.

Talked to some table dealers during the Bliss cruise. I commented on the lack of players at all the tables no matter what time of day. She said it was normal for the longer cruises. As per $ stakes, I did see some $5 tables.  Didn't pay much attention as to whether Black Jack, 3 card or Let it ride as I was enjoying conversations with the ladies and gents trying to maneuver their walkers and a cocktail to the 15 cent a play penny slots. Most of them were delightful.

I agree with you about avoiding 6:5 Blackjack in land-based casinos where you have a choice, but on a ship it's either poor blackjack or even worse slot machines.

If you hit a blackjack with a $6 bet, I think they would pay you $6 for the first 5 and then even on the last dollar for a pay-out of $7.

Correct, you win $7 for a blackjack on a $6 bet, but because $6 x 6/5 = $7.20 and they don't round up.  They do have 25 cent coins that do get used to payout when the winnings are above 25/50/75 cents.

The $6 minimum tables are there to allow a $5 bet and the additional $1 on the side bet (Lucky Ladies or whatever the side happens to be on that table).
