So far what is a must do or see on ship or in any of the ports?

Loved what you have posted

This ship is very nice. You can tell it is still new. Very clean! The Soccer Billiards is one of our favorites as well as the skyride. (Close toed shoes for the skyride)

The Magic was my favorite ship before this one but I think Horizon takes it now. Will be interesting going on the Sunshine out of Charleston in September to see size difference.

And super excited for the Mardi Gras fall of 2020. Wonder what the pizza line will be like on that ship?

And the pasta bar. We LOVE the pasta bar!

Went by ocean plaza on deck 5 to see what they to offer for breakfast. They were also handing out crafts from Michaels for people to work on. A good amount of people were making bracelets.

This picture reminds me of a helpful tip. Grab an extra box or two of your favorite cereal in the morning. You can snack on them in your cabin (they make an easy snack for kids too) or take them ashore if you're headed to the beach.

Gettys, does the Horizon have any of the Playlist Production shows seen on other ships, or all they all new? Better yet, can you list them? Thank you.

Thank you for this review. I was on the fence between a few different Carnival/Royal itineraries for next year. After this and a few other reviews, it is clear that this needs to be my next. I just can't see any scenario where this wouldn't be absolutely amazing. Maybe I'll save the Mardi Gras for next time.

We drive to our cruises, too. Can't afford to fly. Except we've got you beat. Takes us almost twice as long to get down there. Actually, we stay at a particular hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. They have good long-term cruise parking, then we take a shuttle to Miami. There's something going on in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale in March next year because all of the hotels are booking up already and the one we stay at is about $100 more than it was last year. I checked the March Madness schedule and it's not that. I guess spring break, don't know.

How much do they charge for that parking?

I feel like the elevators are much better/faster in this ship....as I post this we got our first fill elevator :-/. We could have fit but it would have been tight. But I feel they have been good the entire trip.

It’s the wife here for a special guest post :)

Our cruise buddies and I decided to check out the salad creations bar on the Serenity deck. It is only open on sea days from 11-3. There are a lot more options for toppings up there than the salad bar on lido so we were pretty excited about that. The bowls are pretty cool too!

We did notice that the later you go, the more the toppings were picked through. We had to ask the little worker man to refresh several of the toppings containers but he had no problem doing it for us.

We all really enjoyed our salads and it is a great option for a lighter lunch!

While everyone else was getting salads I decided I wanted a burrito from the Blue Iguana. The dreaded line was FIVE people deep. So I waited the LONGEST THREE minutes ever before I could place my order. I went shrimp and chicken (because why not???). I got a good amount of toppings as well. Very good lunch, glad I remembered the Blue Iguana. 32ef6f90323052d55f3b21aa0dfff369.jpg78d7fd858bfe55dc42cce0269ba7050e.jpg83fcb501746f1fb384062aa603f1e2ea.jpg8549ac429da0663a4eaf0a747e06c490.jpg9973546b248019c05d869007ee6a2e50.jpg

Cakes of the day! No line what so ever for these at 12:30. Actually the lido lines were all short except for the pizza line. There were about 10 people in line waiting on pies to come out of the oven.

Pizza line at 12:35. It finally got me because I was going to take a pie back to the balcony with my burrito. (Don’t judge me!) I waited for about 5 minutes and the decided I would just come back.

@Gettys84 you have been getting a lot of questions, so maybe you didn't see mine the other day, but I was wondering if you have any comments/opinions on what the nightlife is like on this ship compared to other ships?

Either way, thanks for the review! Its been holding me over until we get onboard next week!

Sorry about that! There are quite a bit of options for night life on board. They had an 80’s glow stick party last night and a white party and deck party earlier in the week. I would say the night life activities are pretty comparable to the other carnival ships. I don’t recall any of the other ships doing a white party though. I will say, we’ve been so worn out from our day that we haven’t made it to any of the late night activities. We did hear other people say that the 80s party was a lot of fun.

All of the playlist productions are new and created just for this ship. I’ve attached pictures of the names of the shows and the descriptions.

We are booked on deck 6 balcony cabin in the middle of the ship and even though you are located in a different area but on deck six do you feel there is any more noise coming from deck 5 and the outer side venues? Our last few cruises we have been in much higher decks so only other cabins have been below us. Just wondering
