Wow, we did this cruise a few years ago but it was in June.  What s difference a few months make.   It was a great trip with a few more stops.  Pretty warm at that time.

Wow,

Exactly!

We got off Marina Friday in NYC and drove home, upstate, through some flurries and on arrival home a dusting on our yard.  Nothing like this though!  Stay warm 🙂

And we did it in May 2014.  Not the same itinerary but much of the same stops -- we had two in Newfoundland.  We got to Corner Brook which was great, but missed L'Anse aux Meadows which the prior year's cruise had also missed.  I remember the weather was warm enough although not necessarily warm. I checked our photos which look like sweaters and light jackets, but I didn't say anything in my diary about the weather there. Mea culpa.

But early April ... lesson learned!

P.S.  My travel companion was to be a childhood friend who's lived all her life in L.A.  She would have LOVED the snow!

some of it has melted  but the crew are shovelling the bigger mounds into the corners  so they can open the decks up  some brave souls out walking around the deck above the pool ..

the sun is out so that should help

a bit rolling motions but so far not bad

we did miss NFLD because of the storm  & went south a bit

off track a bit

in the Terrace  they have plastic wrap stretched  from the sneeze guard to the counter in some areas of the buffet ( it is  a start)

No snacks in Horizons 24/7 as reported someplace here

they have the usual morning offerings plus cold cereals  until 11am

have not noticed the straw situation yet as Waves has been closed for 2 days

looks like it may open today for lunch

temp now 45F  so getting better

Thanks for the photos, Lyn. They reminded me why we left New York City. Enjoy your unique cruise. Not every cruise has snowman building as a possibility. If we were on Marina, we would enjoy the snow as tourists. Plus, it will probably be gone soon. In a few minutes I am going out to 78 and sunny.

Plastic wrap, but no plastic straws.  Does not make any sense at all.   I guess the straws are just a P.R. stunt to try and look good to some group or other.

we finally have sunshine  YEAH!!!

we left Cobh last evening  but it was a bit too bumpy for the pilot to get off  so he is still with us

The Captain reported we will di a technical stop in Falmouth  so he can get off  as we head to Saint Malo

so far the seas re not too bad  looks like better weather for the next few days

Straws are banned here in San Diego. Bring your own reusable one if it is an issue.

Plastic bags are banned as well. I always carry a spare in my purse.

We cruised last January to Antarctica.  Summer there.  But we did have a snow day.  But not as much as you.

we did this one a few years ago in June.  No Snow.   Weather lovely.  But in any case the ship is great.

What I've read is that straws literally "fall through the cracks."  They don't recycle at all because the machines can't handle them.  And there are plenty of straws that aren't plastic.
