Nice Resort Option in Santo Tomas de Castila

I was recently in Santo Tomas de Castilla and had a great day at Amatique Bay Resort. In the past I had done an excursion with Happy Fish to Livingston and the Rio Dulce and enjoyed it, but just wanted a nice beach day. I was only able to book this option through the ship, but it included transportation via boat to and from the resort. There was a nice beach, great pool with a swim-up bar, waterslides and more. The food and drinks were good and reasonably priced.

Looks nice!  We were in Santo Tomas in March 2019 with no prior plans.  We talked to the Happy Fish representative at the passenger terminal and did a private tour to the nearby waterfall/animal park, and then to the public market in Santo Tomas and also a supermarket there (to buy some specific Guatemalan rum).  We had both a driver and a separate guide, which seemed like a luxury.  The day we visited, he said their boat shuttles were unlikely to run on a walk-up basis since they required a minimum number of passengers and it was a quiet day.
