We Received Our Ocean Medallion's in Mail! ... with pics :)

We heard that we are one of the first cruises to receive our Ocean Medallion's in the mail.  So figured we share pics of how it arrived.  🙂

Pretty snazzy!  The fun began when we opened opened the box!  We took pics at each stage while opening the box.  Good job Princess!

The box included one lanyard for each passenger, a case to hang on the lanyard for the medallion, and a pouch (in case we choose to use the old-school sail-n-sign card 😂).

AND... for those who actually are wunderin'.....  the weird blue (hurry-edited) spotches cover our names 🙄😄😎

We sailed on the Regal last year on a T/A.   We had the Medallions, but we didn't get them until we arrived at the pier.  Not sure why some had them mailed to their homes and others not.  It wasn't a big deal, we still were checked in quickly.

Very nice. Thanks for the photos.

Know it is easier to mail them and get people started.

But, it makes me smile thinking about years ago the booklets & excursion info sent and claims of wanting to "save the trees and ease for the guest" when this was discontinued.

These boxes of course are from recycled paper, aren't they? and using the medilion no more boarding passes ,  right?

Like I said makes me feel like we r back where we started.

But don't get me wrong, Am looking forward to my first "full functioning" medallion cruise..I love the idea....Change is a good thing....

Very nice! Two blacks and a blue.

I am assuming two of you are elite and one is a newbie, correct? Previous reports were that everyone received blue medallions.

Yes on the two black..... Two adults are elite  👍

No on the one Blue...  He is not a newbie.

Princess policy - a child who is 17 yrs old or under, are automatically given the "newbie-blue" by default, even if they have multiple Princess cruises under their belts.  So thus, returning child cruisers remain blue until they turn 18.

🙂

Hey, good to know!  Thanks!

That policy might have changed for the medallion now.  Wonder if it is still in place for non-Medallion voyages or if those kids will all still be stuck with newbie-blue 🤔.  We'll definitely check into it for him once we embark on the ship.   We have a 17 yr old that will cruise with us in June, however, it isn't a medallion cruise, so her sail-n-sign card may still say blue (hers would otherwise be Ruby then).  We'll know soon  🙂

I was expecting a blue one but was pleasantly surprised with gold.  😊.

Thinking the same thing, we've been cruising toooooo long.

I want one of each color...do you suppose if we "lose" ours we can ask for a different color.😉

Do these get sent directly to the passenger? or to your travel agent if you used a travel agent to book? How far in advance of the cruise are they sent?  I saw one post above here that it was sent via Fed Ex.  Do you have a chance to have it sent to an address other than your main address? I ask this last question as we live in Ohio but are snow birds in Florida in the winter, and we will drive to Ft. Lauderdale for our next February cruise.  We do get our regular mail forwarded to Florida but if they use Fed Ex for all of these we would have to notify Princess ahead of time to use our Florida address.

Just wanted to know when you are sailing?   How long before you sail did you receive them?  We are on a Medallion sailing 50 days from now, and I was wondering if we would be getting them before we sail... and know when to stalk the mailbox!

TIA

Princess sent the below email to us a little over a month prior to embarkation.  Download the "Ocean Ready" app, create a user name and password, then run through the prompts to get the medallion set up (scan passport, take a frontal pic (security pic normally taking at embarkation), and a pic you can use as your app user pic.

After the required pics/info/etc is complete, it asks for you to input where you would like the medallions to be sent.  Click send.  Sometime in the next day or two, you receive an email confirming your order, and at some point you receive one saying when your medallion has shipped and should arrive.  Ours arrived a day sooner than expected.

You can Youtube the below opportunities also to see other passenger how-to experiences, or find official Princess videos.

Hope this helps  🙂

And Happy Medallioning!  🙂

Yes, there are ruby colored ones but you have to be Ruby tier with Princess to get one 😉
