Time to make Rome excursion

I am on the NCL Epic and booked a Colosseum tour with the Roman Guy at 10:15.  The ship gets into Civi at 6, but I don't know when it's reasonable to expect to actually get off the ship.  I see trains at 7:40 and 8:10, arriving at Ostiense at 9:06 and 9:36, respectively.  I know I have to add time for the connection for the blue line, so I'd rather be on the 7:40 train.  I just don't know if that's too optimistic, or if that train is going to be too packed to make. Thanks...

Even if the train is packed, you can still try to get on it -- if you're up to the possibilities.  My mother was able to get into a seat, but my father and I stood in the aisle for most of the trip into Rome.  Eventually, a younger man stood and gave my 75 year old father his seat.  I won't comment on the train timing as I'm not current with the info on shuttle busses from the ship to port entrance and then the other bus to the train station.
