Yes, the portions are small, but with soup, salad, the entree, and dessert, it's fine.

I can eat a lot at times. I usually make out pretty well at rodizios (brazillian steakhouses). I had 30 wings at my local bar's all you can eat wing night the other night.

On this cruise, I didn't really eat that much more than one might normally eat - sit-down breakfast, lunch, and dinner (maybe an extra app or two for dinner) - and I was full every minute I was on that ship. Part of it may have been that I was coming off a diet so my appetite might have been low, but I definitely did not go hungry. I'm not picky but since I've been trying to lose weight I don't want to waste calories on food I don't enjoy.

The only cruise that I did go a little hungry on was a Disney cruise in 2013. I was really disappointed by the quality of the food outside of dinner (and the dinner portions were much smaller than anything I had on this one), so I never ate much for breakfast or lunch. I like smaller portions because it lets you try more things - if you find something you like, just get a double order. It's like the food version of those select a size paper towels :classic_biggrin:

Day 2 - Dinner

We spoke to the Concierge to move our Le Bistro reservations back so we could make the Captain's Cocktail Party. We did dress up for the party, which was nice, but I think it was the only time on the cruise that we did. They had passed hors d'oeuvres (many of the same ones we got from the butler on the first day), and passed cocktails and mocktails. We left the party, explored the ship some more, and went to dinner.

In the last pic you can see the cookies that the butler left us for that day's snack (along with some chocolate covered strawberries). We ended up getting the dessert to go - they offered to have the butler bring it up but we were heading to the room so I told them I was fine taking it up myself. They said someone from the restaurant had to escort me from the restaurant to the elevator for some reason, so we did that. I forgot to mention the previous night we got a dessert to go at La Cucina and they just put a piece of plastic wrap over it and let me walk out with it.

Dinner was pretty good. The salads and scallops were good, the soup was ok, and the filet was well cooked and very good. The sauce it came with was really good as well. My wife's vegetable stack was ok, it was pretty messy and fell apart when she cut into it and devolved into a pile of vegetables and goat cheese. We thought it would have more puff pastry. Dessert was good as well, I saw real vanilla bean specks in the creme brulee, but couldn't find the flourless chocolate cake in the napoleon (maybe it's that really thin bottom layer?)

Thank you so much for writing this marvelous review with all of the food  and other pictures.  Looking upon all of that food, is making me hungry.

We usually cruise to Bermuda later in the season, when the weather is better.  The seven day cruises out of Boston gives us 3 days to enjoy this marvelous Island.  That still isn't long enough.

Really enjoyed your review.  We have stayed in the Haven and you brought back wonderful memories!

I wanted to comment on what you said about the French Press coffee.  We have asked to have it made weaker and stronger.  It is all up to who is making it.  We always asked for the same server for breakfast when we found one to make it to our taste!
