Adventure Diamond Lounge - are drinks being limited to 3?

Yes but your charged regular menu price for them.

Interesting, I've never seen that.  Our experience has been that they don't even have the capability (spirits/mixers/blenders/etc.) to make cocktails in the DL that are not on the free drink menu.  This is a significant change in lounge policy.

The servers just go out of the lounge to the bar in the night club  next door and get your drink. They did did that for all drinks when I did Mariner last September. That lounge only had beer, wine and soda. On AOTS they set up folding  tables with all liquor on the free menu. They start cleaning up about 7:50 so be prompt!

Speaking of over pouring, I was on the Symphony TA in October and there was a lady bartender in the Attic (Diamond Lounge overflow) that would pour me Gin & Tonics that were a glass of gin with a spritz of tonic. It was like drinking straight gin. And it was the same for all her drinks. About three and I was staggering.

They were doing it on Brilliance in October.

I just got off the Independence and they scanned my card for a drink.

In the lounge, or when you were using one of the three vouchers around the ship?  When we use one of the nightly vouchers in one of the other venues, they always scan our card to make sure we  haven’t exceeded the three drink level. They also may be scanning it for some type of inventory purpose.

I got the feeling that they were asking to swipe cards simply as a more PC way to make sure you really were D above,  the last time we experienced card swiping in the DL.  Too many are still trying to sneak in or come in with non D friends/relatives.  On that same cruise...later on....they did not ask to swipe our card.  Already knew us by then...and the drinks we liked.  😉

In the lounge. I thought it was strange, so... I understand why someone would think they are tracking the number for the 3 in the lounge.

Spoke to people who came back from cruise and said their new "diamond" friends provided  drinks for them  at a lounge every evening before dinner.  Obviously the bar tender was not keeping track of drinks.  Wonder if this is a issue regularly and one that needs tobe addressed.

We have found some that scan your card after giving you every drink which they are supposed to do and some that never scan your card.  This is in bars, not the Diamond Lounge

Anyone have a picture of what drinks are included on the free menu? It's been a couple of years since we were in a D Lounge (Mariner of the Sea in Asia). It was also the Suite/Concierge Lounge and we had a drink package so we didn't really partake in what was offered.

They were making cocktails in the DL on the Freedom 3 March and 10 March cruises. No blender drinks.

They made great lemon drops (even sugar rimmed the glass) for me on Freedom last September.

Regarding why free drinks in the lounge were scanned for but free drinks in the casino weren't, it can also be a simple budget/accounting thing.

From an accounting perspective, each department has a budget of how much it is expected to spend.  If the numbers are out of whack for what the Diamond Lounge is spending on booze, they might track drink usage for a few cruises so they get a better idea of how many people are using the drink perk.  If the casino's numbers aren't out of whack (or if their budget for next year isn't being analyzed or whatever), then they wouldn't need to track the free drinks.

A lot of times they say it's "for inventory" but it's actually "for accounting".  Inventory is something that most people understand... accounting, not so much.

This was being done for a certain very important cruiser on Enchantment a couple years ago.  It was a frozen something or other.
