Pedicabs - Anybody used them lately?

Haven't seen any comments about the pedicabs lately.  Anyone use them from the cruise port area lately? 

I think it would be a nice change of pace to have someone peddle up to say the Hemingway House, and then walk back, instead of the conch train.

We used them one year and found out that some of them will barter for a set price if you know where you are going rather than pay my the minute. Just ask..How much one way to Hemingway? and see what happens.

Also be aware of any charges if you ask them to wait while you dismount and take a look at something or go into a shop.

Pedicab per minute rates are posted on the Pedicabs.  As mentioned, they may agree to a flat rate in advance.

 

Of course they charge you the per minute rate if asked to wait while you go into a store or anything else, just like any other for rent transportation.  

 

In my experience, the drivers are nice, hardworking people who are fun to chat with during the ride.
