Deluxe Drinks Package - Harmony

Recommended Posts

Hey,

My wife, son and I have just booked Harmony of the Seas for August this year. We are thinking about the drinks package but not sure we will get our moneys worth given that we can't drink too much as we will have our 5 year old son with us.

I have seen alot of information about discounted drinks packages, cheaper before you board, different prices for different ships etc.

How much is a good price for the Deluxe drinks package on Harmony of the Seas? At the moment when I login it says $51 per day which works out to $842 for me and my wife but theres no sign of whether this is discounted or normal rate pre-boarding.

For those who bought the package on Harmony how much did you pay?

Thanks!

We paid $49 pp per day on a 3 night.  It’s pretty easy to at least break even on Royal with package even without being a heavy drinker. Many drinks in the $13 range, so 3 a day plus a couple water, coffee, or soda and you are there.

Im on Harmony in June and I have never seen the package drop below $52/pp (what I purchased at) and I booked it a year ago!

Also travelling with small children and after doing the math in my head, I still think the package is worth it, even though we obviously dont plan on getting trashed. I like premium coffee and Red Bulls too, both of which are covered, and I can pound quite a few water bottles a day.

All said, the value is there in my opinion.

Also, check for a BOGO deal. We purchased a week ago. It was full price for me and 50% for DW. ($480 and $250)

Please pay NO attention to the wording of any offer.

Just look at the per person per day cost.

BTW, "BOGO" just means 25% off per person.

Thanks for the replies. I’m assuming it’s really obvious when there’s a sale? I can’t see anything indicating a sale at the moment.

Thanks

Royal always seems to be touting some kind of sale, but just look at the bottom line price.

And many times the pricing comes out the same, just a creative way to word it.

A couple weeks ago I paid $42 a day.  It is the lowest I have seen since booking our cruise

The absolute lowest I have ever seen was $39 but that was on a Far East Asia cruise on Mariner before the refurb. Harmony, I think the lowest we got was $49 on one of the two cruises we took on her. Our most recent Harmony cruise last year I never saw it fall below $49.

As for a "sale" basically assume that it is always on sale before the cruise. The "full" price is something like $70 a day but they never actually charge full price. Think of it like buying a car. The MSRP is $30,000 but you'll never actually pay that amount.

Buy when the price makes sense. If the price drops cancel for a refund and rebook.

I was on Harmony a few weeks ago. The lowest the drink package ever went for us was $52. It just bounced between $52 and $56 all the time. I attached a spreadsheet you can use to see it the package it worth it or not. Keep in mind, you also need to consider priced for any non-alcoholic drinks or packages you would get if you do not get the deluxe package. All that should be used in comparing the price of the deluxe.

For our June 2018 cruise on Harmony, I purchased the Deluxe drink package for $45.  Just remember that they add in the gratuity (18% still, I think) to that price so that bumps it up as well.

I do have to second the folks that say it doesn't take much to get the value at the mid 40s without over imbibing.  I love fresh-squeezed juices, premium sparkling water, and specialty coffees and consume a lot of those during a normal day.  After that it doesn't take more than a couple of higher-end cocktails or wines to reach the 'break even' point.  Just remember to ask for the premium alcohol, because if you don't they'll make the drinks with well booze and you're not getting what you've paid for.

I got the package for $49/day per person for our Feb 2019 Harmony cruise.  I'm not a big drinker so I'm not sure I got my "money's worth".  I believe my husband probably came out a little bit ahead.  One thing that I did really like though was knowing that I wouldn't have a huge bill at the end of the cruise.  With the drink package you already know & have paid for your drinks before stepping onboard the ship.  We also took advantage of the premium liquor instead of house pour in our frozen & mixed drinks.

I've never cruised Royal Caribbean before but was offered a complimentary cruise (casino) in November. I looked at the beverage package for that cruise and the price today is $47 pp/pd + 18% gratuity. It sounds like the price for the beverage package can fluctuate? Do I need to book and pay now to get this price? Is there any way to tell if this is a sale price and how long the sale lasts? I was booked by a third party so the info regarding onboard items wasn't available to me ahead of time - the google searches I did said the package was $63-70 pp/pd. Sorry, I'm used to NCL and Princess so this is all new to me. Any help is appreciated.

You can book anytime until the day of the cruise but you have to pay when you book.  You can cancel and rebook if the price drops but I think they cut the cancel ability off a day or two before sailing

This is my experience exactly. Going on Harmony next month, but booked it a year ago and the entire time it has bounced between $52 and $56.

Finally got tired of waiting and booked it the last time it hit $52. Which might have been a good thing, because that was over a month ago.

You can book things in your Cruise Planner up to three days before your cruise.

NRWPA, you will get free drinks in the Casino any time that it is open.  (I am assuming that you got the free cruise because you are ranked at Prime or higher in the Club Royale program)
