CPCruiser4Life Posted April 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2019 Dear All: Well, crazy to think it's been that long since our last cruise because the interface on this website has changed dramatically. In the past, I have always been able to search "this specific Celebrity forum board. Anyhow, we're mid-age couple with a 4 year old planning to go on our first Celebrity cruise. We have cruised on Carnival, Princess, and RCI. Obviously, we have enjoyed Carnival the most as they do cater to kids, but we're very open minded, easy going, easy to please cruisers. Our daughter never has spent time in the "kids" place and prefers to be with mommy and daddy which is fine. We tried dropping her off a couple times and she would cry the entire time. However, after meeting a 'friend' on the cruise and found out she was going to be there, she had a fun time for a couple hours with her there. Anywho, Celebrity has a good summer deal going on and we're looking to hop on board. Besides the kid zone, does celebrity do any family fun activities ( I've heard they do family bingo which is fun), stewards make towel animals for the child?, Any advice, suggestions, or tips for us would be greatly appreciated. We're going on a 7 day Western Caribbean. First cruise without an outdoor movie screen, but the concept of a "grassed" deck seems really fun and exciting. Thank you to all in advance. Dreamcruise27 Posted April 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2019 Hello! We are currently on the eclipse and here is a schedule of activities for the kids so you can get an idea of the type of scheduled activities they offer at the kids club. There are also family activities listed in the daily schedule everyday, ranging from Amazing Race to dodgeball games. You will have sunny weather so you can enjoy the outdoor pool and the outside decks 🙂

turtleko Posted April 22, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2019 Our daughter and nephew received daily towel animals on the Solstice in Alaska last summer. Our nephew's room steward was a true towel animal artist while our's was clearly trying his best 🙂
LMEEE06 Posted April 22, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 22, 2019 We just got off the Equinox. Didn't travel with a child so I'm not sure about the towel animals, but we overheard kids asking to go to the "Kids Club" and it sounded like they were having a great time. All the kids we encountered were fairly well behaved and seemed to be enjoying themselves.

miched Posted April 23, 2019 #9 Share Posted April 23, 2019 Form what I have observed all of the children loved the programs and activities that X had for them. on our recent cruise we were coming back from a port entering the ship and the teen in the family ahead of us was asking the parents if he could leave and go to the teen club. They said no and I asked why and they said they had some issues and problems that they had to discuss with him. happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
Rare chemmo Posted April 23, 2019 #10 Share Posted April 23, 2019 For shy kids a club that is less busy can be better...More opportunities to get to know a few friends well and for the leaders to get to know your child. The lawn area does have boules, we often enjoy a family game after breakfast. Shops, library and card room are very adult focused so you will need to bring a small selection of toys/activities with you.
the_dylaness Posted April 23, 2019 #11 Share Posted April 23, 2019 Took our 4 and 7 year olds on Reflection in November. It was really a good time. Kids club was excellent, small enough to get personal attention. Note- when they say potty trained they mean potty trained. Our (just barely then 4 year old) son still occasionally needs help with cleaning himself and they will NOT do that (which his fine just FYI.) One of our favorite things was to head to the pool around 430 when others started going in to get dressed for dinner, cocktail hour, etc. The pools and hot tubs cleared out and we had a lot of space to ourselves. If your kids are expecting constant entertainment a la Disney or RCCL they might be disappointed. Ours are low-key so swimming, eating, swimming, eating, napping, kids club, more eating, wash rinse repeat was good for them. We did bring books and a few small toys which helped with in-cabin time. CPCruiser4Life Posted April 23, 2019 Author #12 Share Posted April 23, 2019 Yeah....swim, beach, hot tub, that fountain spitting thing she will love too...we're not too concerned, be interesting if she takes to the Fun Factory. She loves school, but but this will be her 3rd cruise and the first two she wanted little to nothing to do with the Kids club whether it was Carnival or RCI. This is her first year in school and she loves it so we're going to say it's a new school on the cruise ship with a new teacher....small numbers of children will also help, but even if she does not enjoy it......there still will be some family activities we can all do with Fun Factory (Camp out, family bingo, etc.)......we're excited!!!!
