cyrussia Posted April 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2019 Hi all MSC offers excursions that can be ordered online via MSC official website. If I order those during the cruise (but not beforehand), will they be more expensive? Any idea?
Rare Beamafar Posted April 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2019 There's a 20% discount off the cost if pre-purchased.
Rare travelingtink Posted April 24, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2019 The few excursions I had my eye on were the same price once on board. I re-read the fine print and it says you can save 'up to 20%', so its not an automatic savings.
Rare Beamafar Posted April 24, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2019 From my very limited experience of booking excursions, I've been fortunate to book the ones that were discounted.
abbeytravelstheworld Posted April 24, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2019 Does anyone know if the pricing they show for excursions online are in your local currency, eg. i'm in New Zealand and so i'm on the MSC NZ site. Does this mean they're in NZD? We're cruising out of Miami so i'm also wondering if it could be USD

Rare Beamafar Posted April 25, 2019 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2019 The excursions for our US-based sailing are priced in US$ (I'm in Ireland).
CruisingFox27 Posted April 25, 2019 #9 Share Posted April 25, 2019 The excursions for our Northern Europe sailing and our USA sailing are all in GBP (UK site).
BubMunkeyBles Posted April 25, 2019 #10 Share Posted April 25, 2019 When I book online mine are all in USD (even though the cruises are in Europe). Once on the ship it’s € though.

It's clear there is no single and consistent system out there, I think you have no choice but to give them a call.
abbeytravelstheworld Posted April 29, 2019 #12 Share Posted April 29, 2019 Thanks everyone, Just spoke to MSC and their word is that it's in my local NZD currency.

I hope that they're right! I spoke with a MSC UK office supervisor about pricings for drinks packages which were showing on our booking for a US-based cruise. There was clearly a US $ sign in front of the numbers and not a Euro (€) one (which is our currency). She told me that the prices couldn't be in US$ (despite the fact that they were!).
