Ship looks a bit more than half full. Our current Concierge Class cabin is priced about $500 more currently for a new booking than what we paid at it's lowest (I check weekly). Rayhorn Posted February 15, 2022 #364 Share Posted February 15, 2022 I previously reported that our move up offer was accepted at the minimum bid of $550 from an interior to an Aquaclass on the Feb 20, Equinox 12 night sailing. You can go back a page or two for the specifics on the minimum bids for each category that was offered. However, I just wanted to post an update on here regarding changing to a different room than the one auto-assigned because I see questions about this asked a lot. We booked interior and then put in the minimum bid for Ocean View, Family Ocean View, Veranda, Concierge, and Aquaclass. We would have been happy with any class upgrade since we were content with interior in the first place. The bid for Aquaclass is the one that was accepted. So we went from interior > Aquaclass for $550/pp. If we would have booked Aquaclass outright, it would have been about $3000/pp more than what we paid for interior. So for us this was an absolutely incredible deal. We were happy with the position of our room. I was expecting one of the obstructed balcony AQ rooms (has window washing equipment in front of the balcony) or some other less than desirable location. However, we were actually assigned an A1 stateroom which is the higher AQ category and considered “prime location” in the middle of the ship. However, all the A1 rooms are in the recessed part of the ship so you have a big overhang from deck 12 above. Also, if you look straight down, you see the top of the lifeboats, not where the side of the ship actually meets the water. Many people prefer these rooms because it offers shade on the balcony. Our personal preference is not to have the overhang and to be able to look straight down and see where the water and ship meet. We were certainly very happy with any AQ cabin since we were coming from an interior. But we did see that there were A2 rooms still available. These are considered by Celebrity to be a slight “downgrade” in location from the A1 rooms, but some of them are located at the forward section of the ship where they are not recessed and there is no overhang so we prefer them more. We were told by our TA and by Celebrity that we could move between available rooms in the same category or lower (within the same class) for free. So we just asked which A2 rooms were still available at the front of the ship and picked a new room from the list after consulting the deck plan. So we really got exactly what we wanted and there was no fee or penalty for doing so. A secondary benefit is that the cabin we were originally assigned was under the pool deck where we had concerns about the sound of deck chairs being put out or moved in the early morning above us. The room we moved to is under the acupuncture rooms which means we shouldn’t have any noise from above. The rep explained our choice of rooms like this (using veranda as an example because there are more categories): If your accepted bid was for a veranda stateroom, then you’d only be able to move to another veranda stateroom. However you should find out the specific category of your auto-assigned room. Let’s say that move up auto assigned you to room 8200. You look and see that 8200 is a category 1B cabin. That means you could theoretically switch to any available 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, or 2D cabin. However, you would not be able to change to a 1A or SV cabin even though they are veranda cabins because their category is higher than the one you were assigned to. All in all, this was a big benefit to cruising during the pandemic. Bid accepted at minimums and enough available rooms to move around to a spot we liked best! If you’re not satisfied with the automatically assigned location, do a mock booking to get an idea of what other rooms are available in the same class and call your TA or Celebrity and ask to switch. 5

Yes/No: No (probably not) General Comments (offer details, etc.) Minimum Bids RS $2800 PP CS $2100 PP SS $1500 PP AQ $250 PP CON $150 PP Family Veranda $140 PP Was surprised to received the email a full two months prior to our sailing; just a day after final payments were due. Would love to bid on a suite however, the minimum bids are too high for us. Not sure if they ever modify the minimum bids but if they do we will reconsider. The Aqua and Concierge minimum bids seem reasonable however, we like our cabin location. Might still bid on the Aqua just to gain the experience. Our $1600 PPbid for the Sky Suite was accepted on Feb 16 which is about 24 days from our sail date. We had also bidd $270 PP for an Aqua cabin. I was surprised but happy to get confirmation of the accepted bid so far ahead of our cruise. When I checked that morning my Aqua bid was Expired and I could no longer modify the Aqua or SS bids. Later that day we received email confirmation and the next day new eDocs. It is our first time in a suite. Looking forward to it particularly, since this is the longest cruise we have been on.
