  • Captain’s Club Tier : Elite

If YES -  Bidding Details:

General Comments Minimum bid on all three. Having read reviews on move-up I began to doubt the wisdom of not knowing where you would end up (I know we booked a Guarantee originally!)  so I cancelled bids. As I am not happy about having a lifeboat in front of balcony I have bid minimum again on Concierge . Not heard yet 13 days to go, will update

CELEBRITY MOVE UP TRACKER (effective April 19, 2019; but can back-fill data, if available)

  • Ship:  Edge
  • Length of Cruise:  7 nights
  • Cruise Sail Date:   March 10, 2019
  • Date email offer received:  2/27/19
  • Captain’s Club Tier [“PREVIEW” = first Celebrity Cruise]: Elite
  • Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA:   TA
  • Current Cabin:  C2
  • Bid?  Yes/No:  Y

If YES -  Bidding Details:

  • Bid Offer:  $1,300 (minimum bid)
  • Notification Date:  2/27/19
  • Accepted / Rejected  Accepted

General Comments (offer details, etc.)  Everything I had read about the Infinite Verandas had me nervous that I wouldn't like them.  We booked day one so had a VERY low price to begin with.  The $1,300 pp was reasonable for a Sky Suite.  I couldn't have been happier with the location, layout, etc.  Do not regret this decision at all.

General Comments (offer details, etc.) Offer details - FV- $100, CC-$100, AQ- $150, SS- $1000, CS -$1500, Sig S- $2000, RS- $2500. Bid on Aqua on 5/17. On 6/4 there was a 24 hour flash sale with a price drop that allowed me to move to Aqua and keep perks, pick cabin and get points, and get the CC 1 cat upgrade so we withdrew. Two things to know. The day after we withdrew someone on our sailing had a bid to move to Aqua from a Veranda accepted for $180 and, the move up Page now has a slightly reduced amount if we want to try for a suite. SS - $900.

If YES -  Bidding Details:

General Comments (offer details, etc.)  From our cruise last December but thought it might be helpful information for someone.  Offer was for all categories above our current stateroom - - CS for $400 minimum pp, RS $600 and PH $1000.  We bid slightly above the minimum for all 3 on day the email came and then revised the bid for RS the next day.  Day after revised bid, was notified that it was accepted.  Cruise in a RS was fantastic!  Only problem now is hubby is complaining about cruising in "just a Sky Suite" for our next cruise.

General Comments (offer details, etc.)

Minimum Bids were: Aqua: $50 pp, Sky Suite: $500 pp, Celebrity Suite: $700 pp, Royal Suite $1000 pp. Our TA already offered to move us to Aqua at no additional cost since prices have dropped, so no way were we going to bid to upgrade on that. We also love the location and size of the room we booked (6143; has a giant balcony, quiet location, and in the middle of the suites), and none of the Aqua benefits would cancel out giving up the room we currently have. This is also our first cruise ever, so I want the main dining room experience. I actually did initially place minimum bids on a Sky Suite and Celebrity Suite, but decided to cancel as I couldn't justify an extra $1k+ for a private dining room, lounge, and sundeck. Reasons being I want the main dining room experience, we already have a beverage package included, and I can't imagine we will be unhappy with the public sun decks/pools.

General Comments (offer details, etc.)

Offer allowed for minimum $1000pp for Celebrity suites, $1500 pp for Royal suite.

We were fortunate to take advantage of price reductions earlier. Then invitation to bid for a move up was only $200pp more than our original booking for a balcony cabin.  Money well spent for us as we only take 1 vacation a year.

  • Ship:  Silhouette
  • Length of Cruise: 14 nights
  • Cruise Sail Date: June 30, 2019
  • Date email offer received: I never received an offer, I found the link through other posts about the move up bidding here on CC
  • Captain’s Club Tier [“PREVIEW” = first Celebrity Cruise]:  Preview (not my first celebrity cruise, but have previously cruised with an employee...hence ineligible)
  • Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: Direct
  • Current Cabin: Veranda 2C, 30% obstructed, booked as a GTY
  • Bid?  Yes/No: yes

If YES -  Bidding Details:

  • Cabin Category: place winning category, if accepted (all category offers, can be mentioned in comments): Concierge
  • Bid Offer: $100pp (considered WEAK and in the red of the gauge)
  • Notification Date: June 18, 2019 (bid placed May 26)
  • Accepted / Rejected: accepted!

General Comments (offer details, etc.) $100pp might not be worth it to some, but this cabin certainly cost more than $100pp at time of original booking. Even if the other perks aren’t worth it, we now have an unobstructed view and foot-rests on the veranda (though our other balcony was larger than average and I was kind of excited about the extra space)

CELEBRITY MOVE UP TRACKER

  • Ship:  Edge
  • Length of Cruise: 7 days
  • Cruise Sail Date: June 29, 2019
  • Date email offer received: approx 45 days out
  • Captain’s Club Tier: Elite
  • Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: TA

  • Bid?  Yes/No: Yes

If YES -  Bidding Details:

  • Cabin Category: C2
  • Bid Offer: $100 pp
  • Notification Date: 2 weeks in advance of cruise
  • Accepted / Rejected Accepted

General Comments (offer details, etc.) I made the lowest offer possible and was told that it was 'weak' but to my surprise it was accepted anyway. I appreciated the early notice, so that I had a chance to print out new boarding passes and luggage tags. The concierge upgrade would have been about $500 pp had we booked it initially.
