General Comments (offer details, etc.):   Made minimum bids on all categories, never expecting any of them to be accepted, LOL.  Bids:  Aqua $220pp (current price $5830pp) , Sky Suite $1310pp (current price $11,705pp), Celebrity Suite $2100pp (sold out), Royal Suite current price $24,245pp.  We are extremely excited, to say the least!  There's no way we'd have been able to afford that kind of price, even if we wanted to (barring winning a huge lottery anyway)!

CELEBRITY MOVE UP TRACKER (effective April 19, 2019; but can back-fill data, if available)

  • Ship:  Edge
  • Length of Cruise: 7 nights
  • Cruise Sail Date: Dec 8, 2019
  • Date email offer received: Oct 10, 2019
  • Captain’s Club Tier [“PREVIEW” = first Celebrity Cruise]:  Classic
  • Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: TA
  • Current Cabin: SS2
  • Bid?  Yes/No: Yes

If YES -  Bidding Details:

  • Cabin Category: place winning category, if accepted (all category offers, can be mentioned in comments) Edge Villa
  • Bid Offer: $2505
  • Notification Date: 11/22/2019
  • Accepted / Rejected Accepted

General Comments (offer details, etc.) The minimum bid was $2250. My bid showed as slightly higher on the meter but still very much in the "weak" range. Others had offers for slightly lower minimum bids but we had a bargain price on a guarantee suite for our original booking. Also, some people received notification of their bids acceptance a day before I received mine. I think they put them through from high to low.

Other bid minimums were: Iconic suite $5000, PH $4000, RS $1500, and CS $1000. I only bid on the villa.

  • Bid?  Yes/No: No, for a 5 night cruise we just felt the only real upgrade for us (space wise) would be the royal suite, we have all 4 perks already & enjoy the MDR so as we have such a huge nice balcony and cabin we just decided it was too good a cabin to give up vs the cost of upgrading, especially as neither of us would make use of the butler or Michaels club, maybe if it had been on a S/Class ship or a re-vamped ship with the retreat etc, our quest to taste  the suite life experience continues, hopefully it’ll happen at some point in the future 🤞🏻😊

I have been called for an upgrade to the penthouse suite during my last cruise.  I think you should include what people spend onboard.  I usually spend around 3k-4k for spa, wine, excursions, and shopping.  I believe that all the money you spend increases your odds, much like casinos giving upgrades to their gamblers.  My total cost for the trip was $17,500 but it would have been $27,000 if I did not do the MoveUp program.

I will add your comments to your entry in the spreadsheet; but will not be adding a column to collect information on what people spend on board - for most cruisers, that is a private issue.

A "Statistics" tab has been added within the  CELEBRITY MOVE UP TRACKER

It is located beside the "Offers" (primary tab).  It will be fine-tuned over the weekend, but as a "preview":

Of 71 participants who placed a bid and reported the outcome - 75% were successful (moved up!).

I should note that we received the offer two days after we booked, and after spending 3 hrs on hold fixing an issue with the booking, and having mentioned to the helpful agent from Celebrity that we'd be interested in upgrading...

Ship:  Reflection

offer received:  14 Dec 19

Captains Club level: Elite

Booked thru TA

Bid:  no.

Penthouse: 750 pp minimum bid

Reflection: 900pp minimum bid

Comments:  We originally reserved a Celebrity Suite and watched the price come down almost $4000. I did not want to move up to Signature Suite but was interested in the Royal suite. The RS dropped dramatically this past week  and i had my TA contact Celebrity and we ended up paying less than 900 for both of us to upgrade!

Ocean view $100 /person

Veranda $250 / person

Family Veranda $250/ person

bit slightly more the minium with exception of the family veranda. Recieved email that all bids rejected 2 days before cruise.

when I first bid, probably 2 weeks in the bids were not able to be adjusted. The family veranda and ocean view were expired and the veranda was pending. About 5 days before logged into the moveup and noticed all bid options were open again. Increased bids on all options but appears today that offers were rejected. When I check the sailing appears they still have some room open.

I originally placed the Tracker in the thread initiated by CruisingChick on April 23, 2018.  However, the tracker gets lost amongst all the many questions/comments (understandably).  Thus, I have decided to create a single thread for tracking purposes only (filtering out everything else).

The purpose of this thread is strictly for compiling information into a spreadsheet.   I will be running this tracker for ~ 6 months to see if any interesting trends come about and/or for general information purposes.  Will reevaluate its usefulness thereafter.

IF you wish to participate, answer the following questions as best as you can and I will transfer the info to the Tracker.
Please do not ask questions here (redirect your questions/comments to the CruisingChick thread of April 2018).

CELEBRITY MOVE UP TRACKER (effective April 19, 2019; but can back-fill data, if available)

  • Ship:  Infinity
  • Length of Cruise: 5
  • Cruise Sail Date: Dec 21 2019
  • Date email offer received: Dec 14, 2019
  • Captain’s Club Tier [“PREVIEW” = first Celebrity Cruise]: Elite

  • Bid?  Yes/No:YES

If YES -  Bidding Details:

  • Cabin Category:Aqua
  • Bid Offer: $75PP
  • Notification Date:12/17/19
  • Accepted / Rejected ACCEPTED

General Comments (offer details, etc.)We booked this 12/10/19, entered a bid on the 14th and was accepted on the 17th.  We live in Florida so I think they were trying to fill the ship, we got a great price for a Balcony GTY, then bid for Aqua.  We have never done Aqua so decided to try it.  We usually do newer ships so this will be interesting.
