I believe that steel cutting may start in the fall.

I'm just guessing. I did ask the Port Canaveral folks who posted this if the shipyard was building another one and he said not to his knowledge. But another yard might be.

 

Disney will be berthing a couple of LNG ships here in the near future.

 

I do think Icon is to big to do long cruises from here. I'm pretty sure she'll be a 7 day family ship.

You will most likely have One of the other Oasis class ships take her place.  In April there are all 4 OA class ships in Florida.  Harmony will go to Europe and one will go to New Jersey for the summer leaving 2 in Florida.  One in Miami and the other in PC.

At least one of the ships will be used to be based seasonally in Europe and North America and another one possibly to be deployed seasonally in Alaska and Australia. I doubt we will see any of the at least first 3 of the new LNG ships in Asia, also because the enironmental awareness is there on a much lower key at this stage.

WOW! I'm obviously just getting caught up Lloyd, but if that's not a typographical error, that would make Icon larger than Harmony and other new Oasis Class ships by about 9 GTs!

I thought that this one was supposed to be somewhere between Oasis Class and Quantum Class ships in terms of Gross Tonnage.

I'm looking forward to the press releases which will probably start to come out somewhere around steel cutting (right?)!

This may have been mentioned in another thread, but the July SEC filling for RCCL lists the Icon class as having about 5,600 berths. The same filling lists Wonder at 5,700. About this time same time last year, the 10Q filling showed 5,650 and 5,500 respectively, while the March 2018 one listed them at 5,650 and 5,450.
