Have not done haven but I believe they are almost the same, but yacht club is pretty reasonably priced , paid a little over 2000 per person for balcony about 1500 for inside and they are now adding free internet also, I priced new celebrity edge with similar perks and that was thousands more. We did new seaside which was really nice.

The complaints I have heard most often are about the food and the service (the comment from some friends from Italy was that the service is not bad per se on MSC but that the staff on ships that cater heavily to US passengers like RCL work much harder at anticipating the needs of the customers).  I would love to get your opinion about those areas on your trip!

Service was totally great , for drinks and in dinning room both dinning room and restaurant was elegant . We have done about 70 cruises and all our cruises in about the last decade have been suites mostly on rccl , food in yacht club is far superior to rccl suite restaurant costal kitchen, but not quite as good as celebrity suite restaurant luminae, suite itself was on smaller side but definitely enough room . We also have done suites on Hal. By far we found service in general fantastic, to give a example , we went to dinner about 8 every night, butler we be there to carry our drinks up from lounge to dinning room a short floor above. Butler also escorted us to main shows in reserved seats similar to rccl suite reserved seats , we could also had priority for elevator service. And If your into extremely high end liquor you can upgrade your free premium drink package to the extra premium which includes everything on the ship including 21 year old plus Johnny Walker blue, top of the line xo cognacs and French champagne. Was also pleasantly surprised with entertainment  , way better than celebrity but not up to rccl which we love.

Geoge C;  sounds like you had good cruise and service on the ship was good.  Glad to hear.  I do not know much about MSC; except they are trying to break into the us market with a bunch of new ships

Good to hear. Since DH was active until 2004 and we both still have full time careers, about 3-4 a year is the max we can find time to manage. But when we cruise we always get a suite and enjoy the Haven most followed by the RCL suites. I much prefer the food on NCL also (and prefer the exclusive dining room on their larger ships to any premium restaurant on any line on which we have sailed). My parents were very early cruisers (60’s-70’s) and did some early HAL, but we never have sailed with them (as adults).

priority elevator? Now you have my attention 😹 That old myth about the Haven having elevators on command isn’t true, but it is a nice dream 😉. Of course for now we have to spend two cruises worth of FCC with RCL.

I really did not want to take advantage of priority elevator but admit it was nice, butler always used it when escorting us to a show or off the ship. Did not mention there private island and there suite perks , I have always loved suite perks on rccl ladabee but msc yacht club is way better, there restaurant on the island had fantastic food with waiter service, also wait staff would be around our beach chairs every few minutes asking if we wanted a drink .

Thanks, you have definitely made me want to take another look. I know the concierges on RCL and NCL will use their keys to commandeer the elevators, but except those occasions (like getting off the ship for this or that) I also wouldn’t use that (except maybe on the Allure 😂). I normally take the stairs as much as possible, but an IT band injury changed that last year.  i had not heard about the suite perks for the private island - I haven’t sailed with NCL since they finally got that area up for Haven guests (think they did?), but do like it on RCL (but nothing to write home about so we usually opt for bungalows instead).  I will definitely take another hard look!
