This cruise was extra special since I had my sister and her family with us! Hopefully they will sail with us in the future. We already hooked Mom and Dad. 🙂 I wish I could go back and post the earlier pics, but I don't think I can edit from the beginning. If anyone wants to see a specific pic, I can repost it at the end.
lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #77 Share Posted May 18, 2019 Costa Maya I woke up at 5:50 a.m., ten minutes before my alarm. My breakfast room service arrived a little before 6 a.m. After he left and I flagged him down to tip him, I noticed that they got my breakfast all wrong. I had handwritten in 2 cinnamon buns and I also wanted a strawberry yogurt. Well, I didn't get the yogurt and I got two boxes of cinnamon toast crunch cereal! Oh well. Mom messaged me and she gave me some honeydew melon that she got. We got off the ship at 7 a.m. as the sun was rising. We had a jeep excursion booked. This was the first time we had been to Costa Maya.
lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #78 Share Posted May 18, 2019 We got in line for our jeep and beach adventure with Mom and Dad. Needless to say, it was quite the adventure! The speedometer didn't work and the dashboard indicator lights were lit up like a Christmas tree! Also, when I was in the front passenger side, my legs were on fire because of the heat the jeep was throwing off! The roads were mainly paved to a lookout area. Costa Maya itself was pretty dumpy. Trash everywhere and lots of seaweed. DH drove out and Dad drove back. There was a bit of an off road part on the way back. We stopped at a seaweedy beach where we had fresh, soft chicken tacos. There were beach swings where we hung out before it was time to drive back. Mom bought tequila from a tequila tasting.

lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #80 Share Posted May 18, 2019 When it was time for us to switch drivers, DH got into the back of the Jeep NASCAR style! 🤣

lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #84 Share Posted May 18, 2019 There is a pool and shopping area right in port. My sister and her family didn't have an excursion booked and they ended up going into an area in this section where they got to feed birds. They said they really enjoyed it. lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #87 Share Posted May 18, 2019 Back on the ship we showered and went to lunch on Lido with Mom and Dad. My sister and her family found us and sat with us for a bit. I took a two hour nap and then got up and dressed for the second elegant night. We decided to make it a girls night so just Mom, my sister and I went to the MDR. Me, my sister and Mom all dressed up in our black dresses! This is my favorite picture of my sister on the cruise! Lol! I was holding her wine glass. She definitely was able to relax on this cruise!

lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #89 Share Posted May 18, 2019 After that we changed and I went up to Lido to watch Bohemian Rhapsody with my DH. Then I went back to the room after the movie to get ready to go to the nightclub with my sister. I popped up to Pixels to get my photo prints and then went to the lobby to get a mocha chocolate getaway, but they were doing a trivia name that song so I went to the Lido aft bar instead. I saw my DH and my sister's husband chatting on my way by so I sat with them after I got my drink. They started talking sports and my eyes started glazing over, so I went back to the room for a few minutes before meeting my sister for dancing. It was 90's night. We stayed for a little over an hour and had fun! They had a water station which I thought was a nice touch. Dancing makes you thirsty! When I got back to the room a little before midnight, I saw a bowl of cookies that DH got. I helped myself to a few, brushed my teeth and went to bed. lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #90 Share Posted May 18, 2019 I woke up and hung out in the room with DH and then showered and went up to Lido for breakfast. I went down to the Ovation Theater for Towel Animal Theater, but after asking a couple of people, I found out it was cancelled because a new cast was rehearsing. Boo! I then went to the Michael's Crafts at Sea and made bracelets with my mom, sister and her family.
lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #91 Share Posted May 18, 2019 After making bracelets, I hung out on my sister's balcony for a bit. Stairway art:
lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #92 Share Posted May 18, 2019 Then DH and I and my sister and her family played mini golf. Both me and my oldest niece got holes in one!
lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #93 Share Posted May 18, 2019 We all ate lunch on Lido, hit the chocolate buffet and watched the ice carving demo. This is my favorite picture of my youngest niece. If you look closely, you can see chocolate on her tooth!
lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #94 Share Posted May 18, 2019 After that I read in my room for a bit and then went to the library to play Clue with my sister and her family while DH napped. Then DH and I went to the past guest party.

lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #96 Share Posted May 18, 2019 We had supper in the MDR and then watched the Lip Sync Battle. I found one of those cruising ducks on the stairs in the atrium and after re-hiding it, I got one last mocha chocolate getaway. They had the Baked Alaska Parade! lovestocruise19 Posted May 18, 2019 Author #99 Share Posted May 18, 2019 There you have it! My overall thoughts are that I really like the Breeze. The fact that Deck 5 Promenade goes all the way around on the outside is a really nice feature. The food was good. Desserts were good overall, but some looked better than they tasted (bland). I think this will be my first and last time to Costa Maya. And it was my first time having a stateroom all the way in the front of the ship, but definitely not my last! I really liked our room and never felt sick. It was nice paying an inside price and having the secret deck so accessible. Since some of my photos didn't show up in the beginning, I will post some of the ship here for those who couldn't see them. I will probably post some videos as well if I can figure out how to do that on this new format. Thank you all for reliving my cruise with me!
