Can anyone recommend a driver that could pick us up from the port take us to the ruins at cachhoban and bring us back..not at all interested in a shared tour looking for something for just the 4 of us

I don't believe there are separate drivers in Costa Maya like in Cozumel.  You can go to the taxi stand and see if the guy there can arrange a taxi for you.  But  you'll have no guide.  And not sure of what the fare might be.

Unless things have changed there are no car rental agencies either. nearest one was in Chetumal.  Cost you more in a taxi to get there than a car rental and take longer to get to the ruins from there.
