Allure of the seas Main Dining room seating by window

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have pics they took on Allure in the main dinning room by the windows? Currently on the phone on hold hoping to make a request to sit by the windows in the main dinning room. We have traditional seating 515p  thanks.

It is usually pretty dark outside by the time dinner comes along and there is nothing to see except blackness.

From my experience,  they close all the curtains at night so you couldn't see out if there was anything.

Also, on some ships the MDR is on the same deck as the outside promenade where people are walking by right next to the windows..

OP’s 5:15 dinner is unlikely to be in the dark other than a couple of January sailings.

I forgot.   I am under 70 and have never done early seating...

Seriously, you just might live to that age someday yourself so why knock it?

Not knocking it, but that is usually who eats early.

And I drive at night....

Calling won’t get you what you want.  Approximately 2 weeks before your sailing, send an email to rcldining@rccl.com with your request.  Provide your name and ship name, reservation number, dining time, and size of table you’d like.  They normally will get back to you within a week.

Hmmmm!  Then I wonder what all those young families were doing at my early seating on several cruises  Maybe connecting with their children and leaving enough time for the kids to go to  the kids' activities after an EARLY dinner.  If you can, think about that, little Matty.

The person on the phone is NOT going to be able to help you. They can put it in a request, but they cannot guarantee anything. I always email the dining email address about 3 weeks prior to my sailing and make my requests. I always receive a response within 2 days with a screenshot of where my table will be and the table number (yes, the numbers change from time to time, but they are always generally in the same area.

I print that confirmation email and take it with me along with the rest of my documents in case I have an issue. I have never...knock on wood, had any problems even after 10 plus times doing this.

we were on the Allure recently, and the windows in MDR were, how shall I put it, wavy, so that the image was distorted. It was kind of unsettling.

I ended up having migraines for most of the evenings, so I had to face away from the windows anyway.

Oh my goodness. Sounds like the windows are just for light not to look out.  That’s good to know and thanks for your input

I didn’t remember the glass being super wavy, and we have sat many times at the windows, but then we cruise a lot and honestly it all blurs so maybe I missed something? 😏 But the smaller dining room below the casino (?) I think is the dining room with the thicker opaque windows rather than the larger MDR.

There are two things to keep in mind about window seating: (1) first come, first serve and (2) guests in suites not eating in the CK are typically seated at any open window seating. In short, it really is just a shot in the dark - I have never heard of anyone other than a concierge being able to reserve MDR window seating. I wish you luck and hope that your cruise will be fabulous either way 😊

That was not our experience on the Allure. We had MTD so we were on a different floor but we enjoyed looking out the window at the water. I hope this helps!

Realize that is NOT normal - the ship just can’t be bothered to fix that window until maybe the next dry dock.

Like I said.

The majority of people who eat the early dinning are over 75.

I rest my case...….

Agree. Then also depends on time of yr. Use to do 4th of July Cruise week every yr, Sun was up until 10pm some nites. But currently sail every Nov and early Main Dining would close curtains soon as we sat down as Sun was shining bright, so window seat didnt have value on my ship/sailing
