You get a one (occasionally two) day headstart on booking newly released sailings.

For example the Winter 2020-21 Americas deployments were released last Thursday. But Elites were able to start booking from 9 AM PDT on Wednesday.

You should be receiving e-mails to give you a heads up each time this occurs.

If you care about the cabin you get, this can be  a great benefit. We book multiple cruises b2b2b. With this perk, we book the day before the cabins are opened up for booking by most. This allows us to get one cabin for all cruises and not have to move cabins

Kywildcatfanone:  You don't have to request the elite emails.  As long as you allow emails from Princess, you should receive them.  Some on these boards mention not getting them.  Whether it is a Princess glitch or selective process, I have no idea.  Even if you don't get the emails, if you follow these boards, you will know the elite dates.

Make sure your Princess emails don't go to spam on program/app.

Our 56 night cruise next year we booked before it was released to the public - go great as we got a good deal, on board credit and our cabin we wanted.

Also make sure you get future cruise credits before you get off your next cruise - I have learnt to get 2 or 3 each now as we cruise a few times a year. This is a worthwhile perk anyone can get with Princess.
