Seaside Zipline Rules

Interested in some information from veteran Seaside cruisers on the rules for the zipline. What are the age and height/weight requirements and limits? Do you have to wear a certain type of shoe? Can you wear a GoPro camera?

I lifted this from another post:

Seaside Ziplines per MSC:

Height Restriction: Minimum 52in/130cm

Weight Minimum: 75lbs/35kg

Weight Maximum: 290lbs/130kg

I recall something like this being the case.

And definitely closed toe shoes, they were strict on this when I went in April.

On our sailing, they would strap folks flip flops to their harness and send them on their way.  They would let you take a camera as long as it was affixed to you in some form.  They were being very strict about having proper clothing (no bathing suits) and your clothes had to be dry.

Lcookie, thanks for the information I was planning on doing the zip line but was curious if they would allow you to take your phone for pics or a video ? I’m sure if you have to be in some sort of case with a lanyard or a strap around your wrist that may work, if not you could definitely do a helmet Mount GoPro ?

What is the cost for the zipline?

I think it was $11 when I did it in May.

Closed toe shoes.

They said "No" to any form of camera when we did it in May, even if it was affixed.

Odd.  In May we were told that you could if it was affixed.

No pics = no evidence in the event something goes wrong as a result of negligence. No thank you.

Well except for the dozens of cameras all over the top deck of the ship, including one at both ends of the zipline. In general there are 900 - 1000+ cameras on a modern cruise ship that size. So much evidence.... 😅

Fair point.

I also have video of myself doing it taken by my friend, and I videoed theirs when they went.  I just don't have a video of my POV.  Which is probably better evidence if something went wrong than from the rider's point of view.
