Knighton Posted May 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2019 Taking a cruise from Fort Lauderdale and flying in and out of FLL. The day the ship returns there is a concert in Miami that evening that I'm going to. Logistically what makes the most sense? Just getting a hotel in Fort Lauderdale and uber or lyft to Miami and back for the concert only, or uber/lyft after the cruise to a hotel in Miami (hopefully close to the concert venue) then another back to FLL for the flight the next morning? Thanks!
CruiserBruce Posted May 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2019 I would stay near the venue. Uber each way is a solid idea.
Flymia Posted May 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2019 Ubering to the venue and to the Airport will be easier then Uber to venue and from venue. You'll have to make the uber trip regardless, I would personally stay near the venue. But first, where is the venue?
Knighton Posted May 23, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted May 23, 2019 American Airlines arena. Trying not to spend a TON of money on a hotel, but I want to be safe, too. I'm travelling alone.
Rare Host CJSKIDS Posted May 23, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2019 (edited) You can also take the Brightline/virgin train to Miami if you stay in Fort Lauderdale and then the free metro mover to the AA arena. It will be much cheaper than Uber using one of their promo codes that they always have. (I would Uber back to the train station at night as you are not used to the area. Very cheap and short Uber ride.) Stay some place up near Las Olas to make it quick to get to and from the hotel to the station. Lyft has partnered with the train so they also have many promotions to get you to and from the hotel. Freebee is also up in the area and is free but you tip. And the Dalmar offers a free shuttle within a 3 miles radius. Both the Element and Dalmar are very close as is Fairfield Inns & Suites. If you want to stay near the AA Arena, the Intercontinental and Holiday Inn are within walking distance and many other hotels are very close by. When is your concert? That will make a huge difference on pricing. Edited May 23, 2019 by Host CJSKIDS
TNcruising02 Posted May 24, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2019 I would stay close to the concert. We stayed at the InterContinental for a cruise out of Miami. There was some type of concert nearby. It sounds like if you stayed there, you might even be able to walk back to your room after the concert. That would be convenient.
