angelpug Posted June 15, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2004 I have a BEAUTIFUL picture of Summit that pops open each time I turn on my computer. It's my wallpaper for my desktop. Here's what I do.....go to cruiseclues dot com, and go through each of the photo albums...1000's of pictures you'll have access to. The best ones are the online photo club albums, 'cause those pics are saved BIG, save it to your computer, and use for wallpaper. I've been able to find a great picture for each of my cruises I've been on at that site. Hope this helps! Jaime Until We're on the Summit!! Randyk47 Posted June 15, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 15, 2004 OK...I couldn't resist the "sinking" remark. Truth is that like Angelpug I find a good picture of the ship or part of the ship that I like and turn it into wallpaper. Have the Galaxy as my wallpaper right now. marc and jan Posted June 15, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2004 For those of you that have Webshots, there's a "Ceejay Panda" out there that has posted lots of pics of the Galaxy. When you choose one and download it, it goes right into your webshots, and that's what I look at before our cruise for months. Also it changes your desktop every day to another picture of the Galaxy. By the time I boarded the Galaxy for the first time I felt I had already been on her. I think he has another ship out there too, but I can't remember now. I'll post the address, but if this doesn't work go to www.webshots.com, look up pictures by author and put ceejay_panda in the search. Here's his home page address: http://community.webshots.com/user/ceejay_panda/0 Jan SAILING THE GALAXY IN: <img src=http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&prgb=0000CC&cdt=2005;03;21;20;0;00&timezone=GMT-0800> <Marquee direction=left width=45%>Fantasy/97~~~Mercury/98~~~Century/99~~~Splendour/00~~~Zenith/01~~~Summit/02~~~Galaxy/03~~~Galaxy/04~~~Galaxy/05</Marquee>
ParrotHead4Life Posted June 15, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Great suggestion! Thanks Jaime. I've been on Celebrity one time prior, Horizon to bermuda back in 2000 or so - before I had a digital camera. "floating around" must have been a subconscious thing - I didn't realize the irony until after I submitted the post! Tom Until 1/15 Century Western Caribbean! JNLROSE Posted June 15, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Hey Randy, As long as it's about a Celebrity ship, we'll let you use those cute words every time!!! LOL I have the Mercury right now, the Millie is waiting in the wings & several other's are in the files!! tbelian Posted June 15, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 15, 2004 For those of you that are willing to do a little research, there are a number of 'freeware' programs that can be found (i suggest Google search) that will allow you to select multiple photos and use them as a 'screen saver' ... the screen saver freeware program will make a 'slide show' of these photos that become your screen saver when activated. Hope this helps. Here is one I found with a quick search: http://www.xat.com/xatshow/
marc and jan Posted June 15, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 15, 2004 The WEBSHOTS website I was talking about above IS FREE. And all kinds of pictures are already there of not only the ship, but rooms, artwork, etc. just waiting to be downloaded into the free screensaver. And there are other pictures out there besides the guy I told you about. He just happened to have pics of the same ports we were going to visit. 2Huskies Posted June 16, 2004 #13 Share Posted June 16, 2004 Will definitely check out the above suggestions. The other day I was on www.kroozcams.com and got the Summit on the Seward web cam while she was in port. I managed to get that set for my wallpaper. It didn't fill the entire screen as I was hoping, but it psyched me up nonetheless. I even printed a copy and put it up on my bulletin board at work. 2huskies
