Select cabin gifts

Hi,
I thought I saw somewhere that you get a tote bag in your cabin if you have select level? Any other treats?

It may be that I'm just getting confused as RCCL give you a bag, pin, snack and drink treats in your cabin when you board if you have Emerald level which is equivalent to Select.

No little gifts like you find on RC?  Each cabin gets a thin bag, handy for carrying things to the pool.

There is a sturdier tote bag for Suites, Aqua and I believe Concierge class cabins.

Many thanks for the quick reply.

This will be our first Celebrity cruise and I'm starting to think that we should have stayed with Royal.

Why, because you won't get some snacks?   🤣

We've cruised Celebrity and Royal.  Celebrity is wonderful.  Why not go into your cruise with an open mind and then see how you feel?

RCI gives you cookies upon embarkation day. You can get cookies at Cafe Al Baccio or the buffet if you wish. We are Pinnacle on RCI and after a few Celebrity  cruises, will not be going back. We found X to be much more upscale.

It's not the snacks, it just seems like there is an awful lot of criticism about Celebrity generally , the penny pinching and lack of service which we have never found on Royal.

We'll have to see how it is as we can't change our plans, due to the non refundable flights from the UK... £1400.00 is a lot to lose.

Fingers crossed it will be fine.

You'll get a welcome aboard flute of sparkling wine when you first board the ship.

I'm emerald and select on rccl and celebrity (will be diamond after my nov TA.) Since turning emerald and select I've been on 1 cruise with rccl and a b2b with celebrity. Unfortunately no gifts but a discount on laundry was all I got from both. 👍

I believe you are wise to branch out and try a different cruise line. You may or may not like Celebrity, but at least you will have tried it. But since you seem to believe there is an "...awful lot of criticism about Celebrity...." I am surprised you booked a cruise on Celebrity rather than on some other line. At this point, you are committed to this cruise, so try to be open-minded. I am sure you will find some things about Celebrity that you do not like and other things you will like.

Completely agree with you on all points.

Trust me, just as many people complain about Royal, and every other cruise line. We have also cruised both lines and love each for their various amenities and differences. The no indoor smoking policy on Celebrity is fabulous. We love both lines.

Please rest your mind and know that you've made a great choice. 😊

You are now Elite due to being at least diamond on RC, correct? Don't kid yourself, same complaints on the RCI forum about cut backs, penny pinching, lack of dress code enforcement, entertainment, food quality and so on.

I didn't start reading any Celebrity posts until after we had booked our cruise and I think it has just worried me a bit.

Every "complaint" on these boards has to be taken with a grain of salt. I can't tell you how many times I have read "complaints" about a cruise that we too were on (which we thoroughly enjoyed) and can only assume that some complainers actually live for the moment that they can complain about something. We've had our share of different cruise lines and enjoyed each and every one of them. Were there things that we were not fond of on each? Yes but the variety of products is very appealing as it provides opportunities to be pleasantly surprised. Each brand develops its own sense of what a cruise experience should be but until you actually try them how would you know which  would actually appeal to you? Enjoy you cruise (I know you will!)

I’ve cruised many Lines including a luxury Line and I’d say the service on Celebrity is outstanding. There is a higher ratio of staff on a small luxury ship, but for a standard cruise line, I evaluate Celebrity’s service as the top one. So I don’t think that will be an issue. You’ll see the neverending food discussions and so on, but that’s too subjective for me to get into - my favorite restaurant in town here is a horrible place according to good friends.

If you liked RCCL, I think you’ll find Celebrity just fine unless what you liked about RCCL was climbing walls and such. None of that. They’d have to use that brace they put you in to crank me all the way to the top and bring me back down the complete some wall!!

Hope you enjoy your cruise, but this is posted by a guy who finds a fun time on all my cruising. I don’t spend much time finding things to complain about.

Many thanks for all of your replies.

We're not in to climbing walls or flow riders, as long as there is something to do apart from bingo and lectures we should be ok.

I may go wild and spend $20 in the casino on slots 🤑
