sandbag7 Posted May 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2019 We will be on a cruise next March that stops in Cairns at 1 pm, and then overnights until 5 pm the next day; am I correct that this is NOT a tender port? We are looking at an 8 hour GBR tour from 8-4 and we don't want to cut it too close. Thanks.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted May 31, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2019 What ship are you sailing on ? Depending on size , ships can dock in Cairns or tender from a spot called Yorkeys Knob.

The Crystal Serenity will dock at Cairns according to the cruise ship schedule for Cairns Seaport for next March. I haven't taken a private tour on the GBR but if you are delayed you could have a problem. I think I would choose to do a ship's excursion if there is one available as if there are delays, the ship will wait for you. Enjoy your cruise. buchhalm Posted June 6, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 6, 2019 You say that your ship will be in port until 5 pm. If that is the DEPARTURE time, you will obviously need to be on board before that. If your GBR cruise gets back to CNS at 4 pm, that is not enough time. If you ARE on the Serenity, the next schedulled stop is DARWIN. That would be an EXPENSIVE flight. But then again, if you are cruising Crystal, that may not be an issue for you. 🙂
