Norwegian Jewel Layout Question

I'm trying to understand the layouts of the Jewel on NCL's website. I know the balconies are on Dec 8.9, and 10, but I cannot figure out on the diagram which color is for the balcony state rooms. Can someone please tell me how to differentiate on the diagrams between the oceanview state rooms and the balcony rooms? Thanks

this is probably not much help  but give this a try

Go to NCL booking page

click on Explore

Choose the Jewel as your ship

do to deck pan tab, click on state rooms

Choose State rooms  and they are listed by category and color

 

may have to wait a day or two try this as the NCL site will be down tomorrow

 

We are on the Jewel in Aug for Alaska hope you enjoy your trip

Look at the category designation.  Balcony rooms start with a B and Oceanviews with an O.  Only deck 8 has both balconies and oceanviews.  

 

The ocean views midship have views obstructed by lifeboats - category OK.  The aft section of deck 8 is all oceanviews - category OA.  

 

The balcony rooms are forward on deck 8 plus 2 pricey aft facing balconies.

When you look at a deck plan, if you see the room divided (one big section, and a tiny section next to the water) that is a balcony.

 

 

If the room does not have a small segment near the water, it is a ocean view.

Again - look at the category codes. Purple is balcony forward on deck 8 and the red is obstructed oceanview on deck 8.  Call NCL or your TA if you need help.

I don't really remember for sure.  I'm guess it was during a Panama Canal cruise 5 years ago.    However, a dry dock for a ship seldom, if ever changes the exterior.  It  is for interior improvements mostly.   I've been on all of the Jewel class ships before and after their dry docks and nothing noticeably changed except interior improvements.

You would want to go to Cruise Critic deck plans. They show the deck, colors, and describe the rooms.

On NCL the cabin classes for balconies are 

B + letter

B + number

 

"letters" are regular balconies. For "letter", A is the best (e.g., BA). Usually a high deck, mid-ship room. Other letters are for rooms forward, aft, lower decks, and obstructed views. 

 

"numbers" are special balconies. For "number", the number indicates a special (more expensive) room. They could be large balconies or aft facing or larger family rooms.

I'm going on the Jewel in July and had the exact same question. I actually found another website that when you hover over the room it tells you exactly the category, along with any pictures of videos of that specific cabin.

(I'm going to assume I can't post the link but I did a google search).
