The pianos are Yamaha Disklaviers. They play disks but they also have downloaded music stored in the memory. There are usually disks in the piano seat but you don't need them. We were in 1616 last February and that piano is loaded with plenty of music. Ask your butler to show you how to operate it. It is easy enough. You can even control the volume with a button on the far right of the control unit.

Enjoy your cruise!

Good that you can control the volume.  We had a great sky suite on the summit a few years back and were next to the penthouse.  A child in the penthouse was constantly banging on the piano when were were trying to relax in our suite.  It was very annoying to say the least- While the player piano is a nice addition- people should be respectful of the thin walls an next door neighbors.

Agree with you. At it's lowest volume I don't think neighbors on either side could hear it. I asked neighbors in the CS next door one afternoon when we were out on the deck if it bothered them and they said they couldn't hear it. Then they added they wished they could.

As for the robes, the butler asked us on next to last day if we wanted monogrammed robes. They were ours to keep at no charge. One thing to think of. Try them on before if you don't use it during the cruise and check your size. The default was large.

Our next PH is on an upcoming Summit sailing and I'm sorry that the piano is, indeed, gone.  Brought us much joy over the years, but we understand how challenging they are to keep up in private accommodations at sea.

Ultimately our view is that the PH is worth the step beyond Royal in the Millennium-Class ships, but not so for the Solstice-class ones.  We'll stick to RS on those.

We were on the Equinox in a Royal suite this past August and got the monogrammed robes.  We love them and it is a special reminder of a great cruise.  Hope to stay in a Royal suite on our next Equinox cruise-  Thus far, booked a sky suite- but I am fickle and if we can afford it- just might upgrade!!

Just returned from the PH on Millennium. Robes are monogrammed and Frette. Very nice and you can keep them. However, not impressed with the upgraded suite. Ikea at best and poor workmanship in many areas. Would not book it again and would stick with RS or CS.
