Umbrellas

We've been to San Juan several times, but never made it to the street with all the umbrellas.  Can someone tell me the street its on and the best way to get there?  TIA

It's at the end of Fortaleza, between Calle Cristo and the actual Fortaleza (Governors home).

 

From the typical day port, walk up 2-3 blocks (depends on where you start walking north) to Fortaleza, and turn left.  It's an easy street to notice, as it's the main shopping road.

Fortaleza dead ends into it and it's also right around the corner from "Pigeon Park" and the church. You won't be able to miss it if you are on Fortaleza. You can see it from way down the street because it's the entire block full of the umbrellas. Very pretty.

Is this a year round thing that they do? Or is it something they only have up for a short time?
