Does anyone else feel that they were robbed by NCL

Do whatever you need to do to justify it to yourself. Everyone here knew what the OP was talking about...except for one person who decided to be argumentative just because the full formal room description was not used. Yeah...you dig right in...never ever admit your own error.

Considering how willing @Two Wheels Only is to give people comprehensive information about decks, categories and specific rooms across multiple ships, gonna let them have this one.

Wow..so you are going to "let them" huh? I didn't realize that it was up to you.

Yeah, sure...correct people because they didn't use the full proper room name, but then go ahead an use the wrong names and act like everyone else is crazy. Sure... you go ahead and "let them"...seems reasonable to me. Especially since he is attacking someone for something that they posted in a completely different thread.

I've stayed at Atlantis... Needless to say, we felt robbed when the cruise ship came into port.  The resort became overcrowded.

Atlantis is super expense to begin with...

I can totally understand that. Right around the time we were there they announced they were cutting way

back on the day passes for the cruise passengers for just that reason.

Based on my time on CC, which is much shorter than yours, being (arguably pedantic) about precise terminology doesn’t rise to the level of “attacking” in my view.

Wanders off to find that thread about Bluetooth speakers and balconies where people are cheerfully getting away being casually racist ...

I spent an extreme amount of money to give my family the vacation of a lifetime. We had the Owner's Suite on the Joy in May   I saved for over a year and a half to get this cruise and was completely disappointed.  NCL could care less about my horrible experience.  Everything from horrible food to overcrowded and even the a/c which has to be constantly turned back own ( because it automatically shuts its self off after being on for an hour).  All I can say is stay away from this cruise line.  I have had much better experiences on Carnival and Royal Caribbean.    Cruise at your own risk.  You have been warned

I just reduced my bid by $5 due to this post

I guess everyone has their standards and a right to their opinions.

I’m glad I’m not the OP. Of all the things I can be miserable about, it will not start with my vacation.

What at was that saying in the 80s:  don’t worry, be happy.

I am not sure that I understand. The OP has access to the Concierge and entire concierge staff 16 hours a day. The OP had direct access to the Hotel Manager and Assistant Hotel Manager. But chooses to wait until they are off the ship, create a brand new CC account, and complain that they were robbed.

If I were robbed, I would report the theft at the time it happened. Especially if it made me as upset as the OP seems to be.

You always resolve issues before you step foot off the ship.

He also posted a very negative review on the main cc page for this ship. You have to wonder how the crew and staff didn’t know a guest in this category of suite was so desperately unhappy unless he made an effort not to show it.

Naw, after doing much research and observation he simply pointed out the fact that the OP was just a troll.  Particularly bringing up the note the OP was in the OS on the Dawn as well.   Trolls should be stamped out like bugs, no one (sane) would be having an argument with one.

Have to add we see your next cruise is on the cruise line that should have been ejected from US ports for multiple repeat environmental violations.   Really weakens your credibility on the NCL board----NCL has not been under probation since 2000.

Yes.  Every cruise.  A nickel and dime at a time.

Only 60 posts before the dreaded nickel and dime came into play. Nice , very nice! BTW

Someone had to do it!😂😂

@Charlesw1968 I have never encountered anything like what you describe, on any line. Was literally EVERY meal disappointing? Where did you eat onboard? Where do you eat on land that you enjoy the food (Ruth Chris, the Palm, Nobu, Koi)? Have you ever been on a mega ship before? Where did you feel crowded (the pool, the casino, the buffet, the Haven courtyard)? I see someone else explained about the A/C snowflake button. But did you really not say anything to your steward/butler the whole week about it?

I did some research and there are owner's suites on the Joy in the Haven:

https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/joy/staterooms/the-haven

Deluxe OS.  Quite a few people get confused.  NCL has OS and DOS on many ships, some of the older just OS, some of the newer DOS only, in between have both, and some just had OS with DOS added after a refurb.

Which is not the same as NCL's OS.  Two different room categories.

And on Joy there would be two of the DOS, no OS.

One could split hairs about the difference between the DOS and the OS, or instead of being petty, one could consider that perhaps the DOS (which DOES have the words Owner Suite in it's name) is what the original poster is referring to as an Owner Suite since that is PART of the name. Not everyone who posts is going to use your exact terminology or use the abbreviations for every category of ship name and or room as you do. By the same token, not everyone is going to like the breakaway, just as YOU posted you didn't like it. Myself, DW and many of the folks on the May 19th sailing quite enjoyed it.

As for myself, I can only hop to not make it to the 5000+ club as I'm noticing from this thread that there are some very snarky people in that group.

NCL Escape has a Deluxe Owner's Suite (H2) category AND an Owner's Suite (H3) category.

NCL Joy has a Deluxe Owner's Suite (H2) category but does NOT have an Owner's Suite (H3) category.

If I made a post stating that I had a horrible cruise on Escape in the "3 Bedroom Garden Villa (H1)", it would be just as incorrect as the OP's cruise on Joy in the Owner's Suite....because Escape does not have a 3 bedroom Garden Villa.

One can split hairs about the difference in names of a DOS and an OS or one can consider that the OP being newer here may have simply referred to either as an owner suite. Not everyone is going to use the exact same acronyms as you or I. Likewise, not everyone is going to enjoy the same ship or even the same things about a ship. NOW, if the OP had posted about an H3, yes, that's a completely different creature.  Having seen several of the 5000+ clubs being so nasty to the OP about their not matching the SPECIFIC terminology of the 5000+ member, I can only hope that I never join the ranks of that 5000+ club.  The beauty of this forum in the many years I've been using it is the wealth of information available and the friendly nature of the posters, at least prior to this thread. Happy cruising.

My brain hurts after reading this thread.

Mine too! And some people just keep going like the Energizer Rabbit, arguing about cabin descriptions and being snarky and nasty. Even Facebook is not as headache-inducing as this!

Funny, your post says you are in "Florida", but you've given a non-working link to the NCL site for South Africa 😲

Ah well, not being a veteran NCL cruiser, I did a quick google search to find out about the rooms. From google, the link works and regardless of the location of that site, I am in Florida. Yet another example of your being petty for no reason except to possibly make yourself feel self-important. How sad and goodbye.

Reading some of these leaves me to think of the old saying.....

I agree, this is incredibly annoying.

Anyone know how to fix this to keep it from happening?

Not sure if this was serious or not, so, sorry if this is repetitive.

DO NOT press the snowflake button on the A/C controller.  It sets a timer that will shut off the A/C after a period of time (some say 15 minutes, others say 1 hour).  Just put the temp controller all the way to the coldest setting and, after a while, you will feel like you are staying in the Ice Bar.  :classic_tongue:

Quite a bit off subject, but I'll always have a warm spot in my heart for Atlantis.

We were there when 9/11 happened.  We saw groups of employees standing around with bibles praying for the victims.  The resort treated us so well.  Reduced "calamity" rates for rooms, free internet, free phone service.  A room dedicated to helping people reach relatives back home.  I overheard them making arrangements for a man to take a cruise ship back to Miami so he could try to get back to his mother who lived in Manhattan and was terrified.
