AlaskaGoer Posted June 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2019 We are set for the Pilot's Choice Helicopter Excursion next week... They do state they will supply boots for the trip, however I am concerned as my size (13 or 14) is a bit on the bigger end and I hope they have it. Are they special boots or should I bring my own just in case?
kathyball Posted June 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2019 When we had done the helicopter and land on Mendenhall glacier they give you cloth like boots with spikes on bottom that slip over your own boots so you should be okay no need to bring own boots

So, I should bring my own boots for the trip rather than just sneakers? You said they supply the spikes to slip on my own boots, but also said no need to bring my own boots? Sorry, a little hazy on the sentence.
kathyball Posted June 19, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2019 Sorry, just assumed you were going to be wearing boots, it does get a little chilly on the glacier, but the slip on with spikes they give you would go over anything you have on your feet, we just usually wear some type of boot as it is cold
pbenjamin Posted June 20, 2019 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2019 Wear what you want. They supply boots that go over your shoes.
