A Question about Majahual

So, is Majahual a Mayan word? If so, how do you pronounce it? I've been there twice, but I'm still confused. Anyone have a good phonetic pronunciation for Majahual? I think I force too much Spanish into it. :)

The way I've seen it pronounced is: Ma - Ha - Wall.

 

Don't know if this is the local way, but most of the travel & dive magazines illustrate it that way.

Thanks a million. I will ask the locals when we return in March to see if there is a local "native" pronunciation. "Ma - Ha - Wall" sounds correct to me.:)
