Cable Beach Area Close to Local Food

Stopping in Nassau from 10am-5pm for a Cruise Day on a Sunday in August. Will love to go with the family to Cable Beach and also try local food. Does anyone recommends an specific area within the beach close to local food venues? We are planning to take public transportation from the port. Any recommendation highly appreciated.
