Dylandude Posted June 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2019 Can any one recommend a private tour in Rio? We have been before, so can skip the main sights. We also need to be in the airport by 15:30 latest for an 18:00 departure So ideally we are looking for a private tour from 09:00 with an airport drop off. The cruise line does an airport drop off combined with a tour, however it doesn’t drop off until 17:
Lunenburg Posted June 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2019 You could talk to Marcelo at DoBrazilRight. He arranges a lot of cruiseship tours and might have a tour guide available.

We'll be visiting , this time, on the Viking Jupiter , from Barcelona, in November, 2019, but we will only have about 8 hours. After seeing all the RIO sights before, this time, we'd just like to get off the ship in the morning and just go to Copacabana or Ipanema Beach, before it gets too hot. Then spend a casual lunch with a Caipirinha (k-eye-per-reen-yah) or two, before heading back to the boat. We have a number of paintings by a particular young artist. Unfortunately he got hit and killed by a drunk driver one morning when he was riding his bike. We'll be letting his family and friends know we'll be there. And on a happier note, we always afterwards had lunch at a little place in Arpoador between Copa and Ipanema. Frango milanesa and Antarctica beer.

My comments from another thread: If you decide to go with a tour guide/transportation we can highly recommend TourGuideGus (http://tourguidegus.com/ click towards the bottom of the page for English). We were staying in Rio and had an absolutely fabulous full day tour with him in 2017 and he mentioned that he frequently picks up disembarking passengers, tours for the day, and then drops them off at the airport. We also thought his driver was very good. Gus' English is great and he does a fantastic job of sharing his love for Rio with his clients. He also has a 5 star rating on TripAdvisor: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g303506-d4976222-Reviews-TourGuideGus-Rio_de_Janeiro_State_of_Rio_de_Janeiro.html#REVIEWS
