Switching Drink Packages

Does anyone know if it's possible to switch drink packages mid cruise?  If you are on a soda package and want to go to deluxe can you pay the difference for the rest of the week?

If you purchased the soda package (i.e., it was not a free perk), then you may be able to upgrade.  I know you can upgrade on day 1, the question is will they allow it later.  I also know that they generally won't sell the Deluxe package unless there are at least 3 days left in the cruise.
