We are going with Royal Caribbean, which doesn't require price bundling of promos that we don't want.

Why would You not want promos like the Drink Package or speciality dining package?

The Beverage Package has an inflated value of $99 per person per day.  NCL adds 20% gratuities to that, amounting to $39 per day for a couple.  Wife and I drink mainly wine and don't drink until happy hour.  Prior to the drink package crap by NCL with price bundling raising overall prices, we spent about $300 on alcohol for both of us for a two week cruise.  The NCL gratuities are more than that.   Last cruise on NCL we brought our own wine, paid the corkage fee of $15 a bottle and spent less than just the gratuities.  Also, the cabernet wine, which is mainly what we drink that is included in the beverage package is not so good.

We usually pick the dining package when we cruise NCL, since we have to pick something.  We would prefer a lower cruise price and probably do a little less specialty dining.  Now that NCL has raised prices in the specialty restaurants, they are likely to do something negative regarding that choice.

We cruise on Royal Caribbean as Diamond (similar to Platinum on NCL).  Royal has a great happy hour from 5pm until 8:30pm that allows  you to drink all  you want in the Diamond lounge, and order drinks in other bars or the MDR during that period.  When we cruise Royal, we never have to purchase any drinks.  Royal doesn't inflate it's prices with beverage packages, etc. So we save money and enjoy our cruises.  Royal has as good or better entertainment than NCL and better dining.

Next cruise is the Spirit. Southampton, Le Havre, Zebrugge, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Warnemunde, Klaipeda, Gdynia, Riga, Tallinn, St Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm.

Every port is in a different country, so 13 countries in 15 days. 28 days to go. 🙂
