Why wasn't FTTF offered when I booked?

Other factors for FttF being available is your cruise date going to be one of the Casino hosted, special invitees (TAs or bloggers), or large group (or partial charter) cruise. So until there is a good head count on these other special circumstances they tend to hold off offering FttF.

   I wish! 😄  No, I need 7 more days.  I'm spacing out the cruises, to be able to afford them. In between cruises are visits to my parents, and the yearly vacation with my hubby. 

 

  I'll most likely get those days by cruising locally (for me that means Port of Long Beach).

FTTF was not & is still NOT being offered under the Home Port Excursions. In the past, I have added on FTTF at the time of booking.

I have three cruises booked, and was able to snag it when it popped up for one of the cruises. It is not available all the time, and only offered sporadically. Sometimes it pops up in the middle of the night, and could be gone by morning. I grabbed it for my April 5 cruise one afternoon around 4pm, after checking about once an hour since morning. I bought it as soon as it appeared, and it was Sold Out by evening. It is not something that is offered all the time. They only release a certain number depending on how many Platinum and Diamond passengers are booked.

  Well, who knew so many other folks were before me?! 😁😁.  I really had no idea, I'm really glad I asked the question.

 

  Now, if anyone in my family needs me??  I'll be found with my fingers bruised (from constant typing) trying to find that Magic Moment when FTTF opens up!

This is all so interesting. I have a Feb 15th 2020 booked and had my FTTF for at least a month now. It sold out rather quickly, of course.

I've had a late January 2020 booked for a couple of months now and it still hasn't appeared.  I check several times daily.

This is one of the biggest misconceptions on CC. With the exceptions of what you mentioned, Carnival sells FTTF for every cruise. Over the past few years, I have sailed on numerous cruises, including Sunshine, Horizon and Breeze over the last 5 months where we were told in the priority lounge that they couldn’t guarantee cabins would be ready right away due to the number of Diamonds and Platinums on the cruise. Yet there were literally a minimum of 50-60 passengers in the FTTF section in the terminal on every one of these cruises. 

 

This topic has come up at several D&P parties...i.e. why is FTTF being sold on cruises where they can’t guarantee perks to Diamonds and Platinums? Carnival staff has consistently responded saying an initial block of FTTF is sold for every cruise, with the exceptions previously mentioned. If FTTF was strictly capacity controlled, you would never have the situation where D&Ps were not guaranteed a perk on a cruise with lots of passengers having FTTF.

My FEB 2020 cruise out of Port Everglades on Sunrise doesn't have FTTF listed yet either.  I continue to check daily.
