Could we request a table for two for dinner,I appreciate we might have to wait for one to become available but wasn't sure if there is the option in the first place.

Speak with the Restaurant Manager on boarding,  Usually will be  either in the Avon/Spey or Ballindalloch for a few hours to sort out guests requests were possible.

You can specify a table for two when you book, however they state that there is no guarantee you will get one. I imagine first come, first served, so you would need to book early to have a better chance.

That is certainly true.  There is set dining on Fred, so you will be allocated a restaurant, early or late sitting and a dining table for the duration of your cruise.  If you book early you are more likely to get a table for two as they tend to be popular.  There are a number of tables for two in the Spey and Avon, so I would choose one of them, but they will become unavailable if you book later.  You will know when you book if those restaurants are available - if not it is probably likely that the tables for two will have already been requested as well.

 

Not much chance of changing to a table for two once on the ship.  Second sitting is less popular so tables for two will be more available for that, than if you choose first sitting.
