We are on this cruise in September.  I was looking at booking with Rødne cruise for their 2:00 cruise to Pulpit Rock. It says it lasts three hours and our ship is scheduled to leave at 6. Has anyone done this before?  Want to be sure we have enough time.  Thanks!

We did it on a Celebrity cruise in 2016. The Rødne boat will be docked closeby and is and is about a five minute walk. Keep in mind, if you have a 6 PM departure, you probably have to back on board at 5:30 PM.

We did this tour last September and it was wonderful!  No problem getting back to the ship prior to departure.  Rodne's dock is approximately 100 yards from the Viking dock near the tourist information center.  Enjoy!

We just returned from Homelands, and booked the Rodne cruise.(along with about 10 others from our ship!) It was super easy - but  remember to exchange your emailed printed receipt for a actual ticket at their little kiosk prior to boarding.

Suggest you grab a couple of bottles of water from the ship.. and maybe a few cookies!) because the snacks on board are expensive!

We did the HL Cruise this past June and booked the Rødne cruise for Pulpit Rock. Good experience at 1/2 the price of Viking. One tip is to go to the the top deck towards the front as soon as you board to get the best viewing spots and minimize wind if it is cold.

Has anyone looked at the Norled Tour to Pulpit Rock from Stavanger?  It leaves from near the same spot as the Rodne Tour at 12:15 PM and returns at 2:45 PM.   It's cost is about $60/person.  During the summer months when Rodne has the 12:00 PM departure that works well for Viking passengers but after September 1st they no longer have the noon departure.  I'm trying to decide rather to risk the tight schedule on the Rodne 2:00 PM departure or book the Norled 12:15 PM departure and be safe.  Any comments?

We used Norled on our VH in September 2017 for the same reason - we weren't sure about the Rodne timing.  Norled was a wonderful experience - nice boat and crew.  I think the two companies are pretty similar.  Have a great time on this wonderful itinerary!

We had the same worry.  We used Norled.   They were fabulous.  We just weren't comfortable with Rodne's time frame for the ship.  You just never know if something could happen for whatever reason.   We still had time to explore the town afterwards.
